no crowd, no “must-see” sign, nothing special at first glance.
But the silence pulled me in.
And for a moment, everything slowed down.

She stands still… while thousands pass by. 🤍
In the quiet mountain village of O’Cebreiro along the Camino de Santiago, this humble statue of a woman feels like more than just art. She represents strength, faith, and the silent presence of those who came before us — the ones who walked, prayed, and endured.
There’s something powerful about her stillness.
While we chase kilometers, answers, and meaning… she reminds us to simply be.
On my Camino, I learned that not every step needs to be rushed.
Some moments are meant to be felt — deeply, quietly, and without explanation.

THE DAY I WALK THE CAMINO

In October 2023, I walk the entire Camino Frances on the border of France and Spain. 800kms in 32 days on foot without solid intention. All I want to do is to experience the walk.

On the Camino, I met wonderful people from all walks of life, there are pilgrims who walk several times and keep coming back on the same path, sharing beautiful stories and experiences. The journey was challenging but beautiful.

“Why are you walking the Camino?” Is the question that I always hear everyday with my fellow pilgrims and the same question that I throw to my self “WHY?”. A month later, I arrived at the Cathedral in Santiago de Compostela, staring the gothic facade of the church still finding the answer. I am disappointed and frustrated, my journey was ended without finding the answer to my question.

Several minutes after I stood in front of the church, I went straight to Pilgrim’s office chapel, attended the service and received the blessings. Before the service begins Fr. Manny introduced himself and share his own Camino story experience . “ Your Camino begins when you go home.” is his word that stuck in my mind.

My Camino truly began when I got home, all the answer slowly unfolds and I learn in a hard way. Will I walk the Camino again? my straight answer is YES! and this time with intention. 😉
