As another Labour Day weekend comes to a close, this year has a very different feel to it for us. It is with mixed emotions today that we announce that we have sold our bus operation that you have known for the past many decades. So, at this time I would like to reflect on some of the memories that we share with so many people in the area we were able to service their transportation needs!
Firstly, I would like to recognize the drivers that have been a part of our small family operation. They have been the most dedicated people we know and without them, our business would have not been nearly as successful.
Lori Macklin has been with us for 30 plus years! Thank you so much Lori!
Norm Black has been driving for us for 15 years and has deciding to hang up his bus keys this summer. Thank you for your service Norm!
Neil Pullen joined our team a couple years ago, but it seemed like he was with us longer than that. Thank you Neil!
And to all of our charter drivers past and present, taking different groups/schools to locations all over Ontario. Thank you Tom Gaulton, Andre Larivière and Ted Rogers. We really appreciate you all.
Your patience on days that were less than par during bad weather conditions to handling difficult situations on your buses all while keeping the bus safe at all times. This never went unnoticed. Thank you to all our drivers past and present, we deeply appreciated that!!
To all the school staff that we had the pleasure to transport, whether it was day to day school routes or maybe a class trip or sporting event. We appreciate all the positive vibes we received from you all!
To the students past and present that might have had a ride on our buses in the past 55 plus years, starting with my father running his single bus route into Smithfield Public School. My mother took over the bus after my dad’s passing, driving for over 10 years! This year will be the first year a Freeman bus will not be transporting students from that school. Some of the kids from the past have had their kids and even grandchildren ride to school!
To our children and spouses who we could count on for their support! We look forward to spending time with our 2 grandchildren and more in the future!!
