The Broadway Subway Project is a 5.7 km extension of the Millennium Line, from VCC-Clark Station to Broadway and Arbutus.

At Mount Pleasant Station, crews are backfilling around the station entrance. Backfilling is the process of filling in the space between the station and the surface.

This machine is used to compact the new backfilled material, which makes it strong enough to support the street above! Can you guess what this machine is called?

At Oak-VGH Station, we are raising the roof! Well, kind of.

Here, pieces of wooden ceilings are craned into place for installation. They are installed on top of the steel frame of the station entrance building. Fun fact: each piece of ceiling weighs about 1,400 kg!

4 of the 6 new Broadway Subway Project stations will feature wooden ceilings at the station entrance level. These stations are Mount Pleasant, Broadway-City Hall and Arbutus.

Crews have completed the installation of the Linear Induction Motor (LIM) rail in the westbound tunnel, from VCC-Clark Station all the way to Arbutus Station!

Broadway-City Hall Station is expanding to prepare for Millenium Line service, which will connect to the existing Canada Line station in 4 different places!

At Arbutus Station, crews are installing the escalators that will connect the station entrance to the concourse level below.

Each Broadway Subway Project station will have at least 3 floors. But can you guess which station will have 4?

Is that a bird? A plane? No, it’s the first SkyTrain on the Broadway Subway tracks!

Dynamic testing has started! This phase involves testing moving SkyTrains on the completed sections of track. This important step ensures that service will be safe and reliable.

It’s for an elevator! At South Granville Station, crews have started installing the elevator that will connect the station entrance to the concourse level below.

At Mount Pleasant Station, crews have buried the underground station with 10,000 cubic metres of gravel!

Broadway has reopened to vehicles between Main & Quebec streets. Businesses & services are open and accessible, with more than 550 parking spaces near E. Broadway & Main St.

Near South Granville Station, crews are installing brackets in the westbound tunnel that will hold the power rail in place. The power rail delivers electricity to the SkyTrain.

During installation, each bracket is carefully aligned with the running rail using metal guides.
