The Interferry2025 Call for Speakers is now open, from April 1st to April 30th. Prospective speakers can apply using the Call for Speakers submissions portal on InterferryConference.com.

Under the compelling theme of “Connections”, the conference will explore the vital role of connectivity in all aspects of the ferry industry.

Interferry is seeking presentations that address a variety of critical areas, including:

• Community Connections: Exploring the role of ferries in connecting remote communities and supporting regional economies.
• Passenger Experience: Enhancing customer interfaces and ensuring seamless connectivity for passengers.
• Technological Integration: Examining the latest advancements in digital connectivity, cybersecurity, and data management.
• Sustainable Connections: Addressing the integration of alternative power sources, grid connectivity, and environmentally friendly practices.
• Employee Engagement: Fostering strong internal connections and promoting effective communication within ferry operations.

Member registration opens May 1st. General registration open to everyone opens July 1st. Early Bird discount rates are in effect through August 15th.

While spending a few days at the Passenger Vessel Association’s MariTrends Conference in Savannah, Georgia, CEO Mike Corrigan connected with a few Interferry members and directors.

Hosted by FRS / DFDS, Interferry2024 will be held at the Palais des Congrès Marrakech. Located adjacent to the conference hotel – the Mövenpick Marrakech – the Palais des Congrès is the largest meeting facility in Marrakech and will be a fantastic venue.

Expanding on the theme of “ , and ”, this year’s Speakers Program will focus on presentations that highlight innovations that have already been successfully implemented – or which will be operationalized in the very near future.

For the topic of Safety, the sessions will highlight exemplary internal safety programs or initiatives of ferry operators, as well as research or projects that showcase learnings on battery fires regarding both transported BEVs (battery electric vehicles) and battery electric powered ferries. A portion of the Safety program will also be dedicated to Domestic Ferry Safety following up on the Africa Ferry Safety Seminar held in Tanzania in April 2024.

The topic of Security will highlight areas of operational security – involving not only the always present physical security concerns pertaining to ports and vessels, but also increasing cybersecurity risks as technology continues to rapidly advance.

Finally, In the area of Sustainability, we will continue to highlight zero emission solutions as our industry pushes towards decarbonization.

The popular Ferry Leaders roundtables will once again be the final sessions of each conference day, when the participants reflect on earlier sessions and current events affecting the ferry industry.

Our program of networking and social events includes a Sunday evening poolside Welcome Reception, a Networking Reception at the Palais Jad Mahal, and the Farewell Dinner at the Palais Dar Soukkar.

The always popular Technical Tour – hosted by FRS / DFDS – will complete the conference events and will be a unique trip from Marrakech, to Tangier, to Tarifa and includes sailing across the Strait of Gibraltar on the FRS / DFDS vessel the Tarifa Jet.

The hashtag Call for Speakers is now open until May 24, 2024!

Prospective speakers are now invited to submit their proposal to present at Interferry2024, our 48th Annual Conference in hashtag , hashtag on the theme of ‘Safety, Security and Sustainability’.

We are seeking presentations that showcase critical learnings for the ferry industry on the themes of hashtag , hashtag and hashtag . Preference will be given to proven technologies and projects that have been implemented or will be implemented in the near future.

“We’re excited to welcome delegates to our first-ever conference on the African continent to meet and discuss what will shape the future of ferry shipping. We strongly encourage our members and further interested parties to submit a proposal on any of the three topic areas. The sharing of best practices and lessons learned are beneficial for the overall advancement of the ferry industry,” says Interferry CEO Mike Corrigan.
