Did you know that Shortline has expanded our service offerings into ice road trucking? In rural Manitoba and NW Ontario many remote locations are reliant on the ‘winter road season’ to supply their communities with much needed resources to last them the year. The ice roads typically open mid January and last until the end of March. During this time almost all of the equipment, fuel, food and construction materials must be delivered. When trucks are on the ice road, they are limited to driving a maximum speed of 15km/hr and some trips on the ice road are up to 330km!
