Dave brought his classic Peterbilt to the Manitoba Trucking & Career Expo Show & Shine this weekend, and it certainly turned a few heads.

From the polished chrome to the attention to detail, the truck was a popular stop throughout the day and sparked plenty of conversations among attendees and fellow drivers.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, cast a vote, asked questions, and took a closer look.

It was a beautiful day to be out celebrating Manitoba trucking alongside so many classy rigs and the people who take pride in keeping them looking their best.

Nothing brings people together quite like good food, great company, and a beautiful Manitoba day.

Yesterday, the Turk Enterprises team gathered for a barbecue to celebrate our newly wrapped Johnsonville trailers and enjoy some time together. With plenty of sunshine, sizzling sausages on the grill, and lots of laughs, it was a great way to spend the afternoon with the people who help keep Turk moving every day.

The report exposes a broken oversight system allowing bad actors to thrive: Truck drivers paid slave wages; Misclassification to dodge tax obligations up 300% in some areas. 85% of analyzed fleets in ON, BC, SK, and MB have never received a facility audit. Fleets with dozens of safety convictions and forced labour ties remain on the road.

As the Council of Ministers of Labour and Transportation prepare to meet this fall to recommend actions against Driver Inc., this article serves as undeniable proof of the urgent need for decisive, modernized enforcement.

Upgrading and modernizing licensing standards to eliminate carriers exploiting systemic loopholes and engaging in forced labour.

Vulnerable drivers and compliant carriers deserve real enforcement, not minor fines that bad actors treat as a cost of doing business. It is time the penalty fits the crime and these carriers are removed from the road.

The crisis in trucking is now undeniable. Governments across Canada must act now!
