The latest Annual Third-Party Logistics Study sheds light on how shippers are adjusting their outsourcing strategies in response to an evolving supply chain landscape.
As these priorities shift, we're seeing significant increases in the outsourcing of key logistics functions, reflecting new operational demands:
Freight Forwarding is up to 60% (from 44% last year), as shippers increasingly rely on specialized 3PL expertise to navigate complex and constrained supply chains.
International Transportation outsourcing has risen to 52%, highlighting the need for support in managing cross-border flows amid high rates and rising demand.
Warehousing, however, saw a decrease in outsourcing, dropping from 63% to 43%, possibly due to lower business volumes and a need to expedite inventory movement.
These changes showcase the logistics industry’s adaptability and the importance of focusing on core competencies while delegating essential yet resource-intensive tasks.
At First Frontier Logistics, we’re here to provide the support needed in freight forwarding, international transport, and beyond, empowering our partners to keep their supply chains resilient.
