Just a friendly reminder that e-Scooters (like bicycles) belong on the road, bike lanes or multi use trails.
👉 You can also find this info:
✅ On stickers right on our scooters
✅ In the "How to Ride" section of the app
✅ As a reminder before every ride starts
✅ And anytime on our website!
Our scooters are capped at 25 km/h, and they slow down to 15 km/h automatically in areas like schools, hospitals, shopping centres, multi use trails and parking lots.
For additional information, please refer to Nova Scotia’s MVA and the Town’s bylaws.
Our scooters come equipped with turn signals, a bell, brake lights, and headlights to help you ride safely day or night.
Stay safe, ride smart, and keep the good vibes rolling! 💚
Note to Bicyclists: bikes belong on streets, not on sidewalks
Did you know that in the Town of Yarmouth and throughout Nova Scotia, it is generally illegal to ride a bicycle on the sidewalk? Bicycles, as well as electric scooters, create hazards for pedestrians when used on sidewalks. Bicycles are considered vehicles under provincial traffic laws, and cyclists are required to share the road with motor vehicles, not sidewalks with pedestrians. Riding bicycles on sidewalks also violates the Town's Public Spaces Bylaw and is punishable by a fine of up to $1000. Children 16 and under are the only exception to these rules.
Here are some other key rules to follow:
✅ Crosswalks: Dismount and walk your bicycle through crosswalks.
✅ Safety Gear: Wear a certified helmet and have a bell or horn on your bike.
✅ Road Rules: Obey all traffic signs and rules, including stop signs and traffic lights, as you would in a motor vehicle.
✅ Lane Position: Ride on the right-hand side of the road, as close to the edge as safely possible, and use bike lanes when available.
