Throwback to the last week of our flight around the world where the team of filmed the crew‘s visit to initiatives of our partners Synhelion and Lufthansa Group.

The resulting production on sustainable travel is aired in German on ZDF Saturday, July 23rd, 17:35 CEST or can be viewed anytime online via

From minute 10-19 of the film, Robin & Matt talk about current and touch on the technology of Synhelion, which will expand aviation's portfolio, with being the launch customer for these .

Our crew also highlights what passengers can do to increase demand for carbon reducing through Compensaid. And finally, how air travellers achieve emissions by also investing in carbon offseting products of

Inspection in progress! 🧐

After circumnavigating the world and being 220h in the air, is undergoing scheduled maintenance inspections at our Gold Partner 💛Airmatec at Berne Airport.

The Airmatec crew, including , are checking the aircraft thoroughly. So far no major squawks were found, which is in-line with the 2 inspections carried out during our trip. 💪🏼

Talking to the Airmatec engineers, they share the crew’s positive impression of how good of a shape the aircraft is in after covering more than 30‘000 NM (58‘000 km).

Hats off to and for designing, manufacturing and assembling such a formidable airframe and engine! 😍

What a welcome for the Diamondo Earthrounding crew back in Switzerland.🇨🇭

PC-21 aircraft of the Swiss Air Force intercepted after crossing the border. the aircraft were piloted by former university colleagues of Robin & Matt.😍

After 220h in the air, the touched down on RWY34 where it was greeted by a water salute - what an honour. 🤩🙏🏼

After taxiing in, the came to a complete stop on ZRH‘s Stand D01, the same location Matt & Robin taxied out of on January 2nd, 111 days earlier. Having covered a distance of 58’000 km, the crew shut down the engine, which carried plane and pilots safely (really without a single issue) & fuel efficiently around the planet 🌍🌏🌎.

What a moment of joy for the two crew & being able to land as planned on took a lot of effort from the entire Diamondo team!

On ZRH‘s observation deck, Matt & Robin were greeted by Ms. Carmen Walker Späh, Government Councillor of the Canton of Zurich. Addressing the importance of action to make flying more sustainable was supported by representatives of the three Diamondo initiative partners Synhelion, &

Making flying by investing into projects visited by the Diamondo crew supports 2022 call for action to 💚

After seeing a considerable share of the world, the crew also enjoyed being back over the Swiss Alps, ferrying back to it’s home base located .
Reuniting with Partners, Patrons, Family & Friends as well as the Diamondo team members was a great way to end this journey. ❤️

Stay tuned for the upcoming vlogs covering the Diamondo adventures on sustainable aviation!

On their way from Amsterdam (EHAM) to Hamburg (EDDH), the crew overflew offshore wind production facilities in the North Sea.

While Matt and Robin saw there is an abundance of solar radiation in the desert of the UAE, wind energy is the name of the game off the coast of NW Germany.

Using wind as a renewable source of electricity can power the production of green hydrogen.

Raffinerie Heide, which the crew also overflew before landing in Hamburg, are collaborating with in turning the hydrogen into synthetic SAF using the path of methanol-synthesis.

A very promising project, which the crew was happy to learn about from officials of both entities once on the ground. We are looking forward to cover more details in the upcoming vlog of our visit to Northern Germany (yes, some vlogs airing before that one 😉).

Oh, btw the big camera in the last pic is not ours (we wish). is joining us on our 3-day stretch through Germany! stay tuned 🤗

Atlantic Crossing Part 1/3:

Ottawa-Kuujjuaq-Iqaluit
CYOW-CYVP-CYFB

After some quality time with Matt‘s Canadian relatives 🥰, the crew set out well rested to fly day 1 of their Atlantic Crossing.

Heading North over Quebec, the landscape soon turns into the one known from documentaries on the Taiga, which I guess most of us witnessed during geography lessons in school (the fun lessons 😉)

Due to headwinds, Matt & Robin spent almost 6h in the air, before approaching Kuujjuaq via ILS RWY07.

Kuujjuaq, located right at the boundary between Taiga and Tundra in Nunavik (you can tell geography was not the least fav. course of our crew 😉), is also home to Nicholas Brown, one of Matt‘s mates from Cranfield Uni.

While the crew wore mittens and beanies during the quick turnaround in -C temperatures and light snow fall, Nick and his colleagues mentioned how nice it is that spring had finally arrived…😎 proper hardcore folks they are!

Despite a liter of milk costing ~15 CAD in Kuujjuaq, Nick bought the crew fresh fruit and a smoothies for their next leg to Iqaluit! We can only imagine how expensive it was… Big thank you Nick 🤗

Departing the opposite direction on RWY25 via a visual left turn out to join the VOR overhead, the crew soon vacated land and witnessed lovely ice formations swimming below them in the Hudson Strait.

Arriving in Iqaluit, our so called “Go Pro Left“, was greeted by ferrying a the opposite direction to in London! (lucky for tall boy Micke, the Pitot Tube - where the GP is mounted - is up high on the ) 😄🤘🏼

hosted Robin and Matt for the night and the crew enjoyed a lovely sunset. also slept inside thanks to the support of - essential with temperatures well below freezing 🥶

O (Diamond) Canada 🇨🇦

Before setting out to cross the North Atlantic, Matt & Robin laid over at in London, Canada 🍁

Flying a Diamond to a Diamond production facility naturally offers a feeling of homecoming. Even more so for Matt, who being a Swiss/Canadian dual citizen, knows how nice it is to have welcoming family on either side of the Atlantic. 🤗

was also happy to meet with some of his younger Canadian relatives & as “The Black Knight“ was enjoying the crowd at Sun ‘n Fun, took it‘s spotlight in the hangar ☺️

Meeting many of the Diamond Canada crew, Robin & Matt can now confirm that, similar to their Austrian counterparts, they immediately invite you as part of the global Diamond Family. 🤗

Seeing (who had trained the 2 pilots on the ) after completing another ferry flight from Austria allowed the pilots to exchange further expertise on flying Diamonds across large(r) bodies of water. 🙏🏼

Apart from visiting the production facilities, the crew also got the chance to present their project to both high school and students 🙏🏼 Really cool opportunity 🤩

Finally, being able to fly the to meet with Matt’s family in Ottawa, was further proof of an aircraft’s value in a world which desires to remain connected! 🤗

Our crew stopped by in Mobile, AL to visit global HQs.

Although our is being produced plant in St. Egidien in Germany, the team in Mobile is eagerly involved in supporting our cause. 🙏🏼

Getting the chance to talk to people sharing a similar passion for aviation as we do is always a blast. 🤗

We are greatful for supporting us as a Silver Partner 🤍
The impressive specific fuel consumption of the paired with its reliability made it the ideal platform for our adventure.

A fair share of the month of March, Fritz - the owner of - has joined Robin and Matt for the flights through Central America and the Caribbean.

Fritz has kindly allowed the crew to rent his for the duration of at a very competitive fee.
- by ‘competitive’, we e actually mean super fair! 🤗

Fritz further helped the boyz out by paying a third of the flight and ground costs for the time he‘s spend with them.

Merci Fritz 🙏🏼🤗

We got to experience a lot of sunny and funny moments, met the friendliest of people and fly through some heavy rain and even observe a volcanic eruption from the air!

Parting again in Naples where both Fritz and Matt have trained, the crew down to 2 is committed to bringing Fritz’ plane (and themselves) back to Switzerland in 1 piece.☺️

Stay tuned for more!
