1️⃣ Crew, not fuel
Salaries, recurrent sim, type ratings. Your biggest fixed cost never leaves the ground.
2️⃣ Positioning flights
The aircraft has to get to you. You pay for those hours too.
3️⃣ The peak-season slot
Priced by region and by season. A slot in the wrong month costs multiples of the right one.
4️⃣ Engine programme reserves
Billed per flight hour whether the aircraft flies or sits. Predictable — if someone modelled it for you.
5️⃣ The AOG day
An unscheduled fault in the wrong country isn’t a maintenance cost. It’s a parts-logistics cost.
6️⃣ Scheduled downtime
Weeks in the shop where the aircraft earns nothing and you charter a replacement at market rate.
7️⃣ Insurance that moves
Hull and liability shift with crew experience, routes and airframe age. Last year’s premium tells you nothing.
8️⃣ Registration, VAT and structure
Where the aircraft is registered decides what you pay for years. It’s a one-time decision with a permanent invoice.

Landing, parking, overflight, de-icing, premium FBO fees. Small numbers, 200 times a year.
