Best view Matterhorn 🚞 since 1898! Der Gornergrat ist dein Ausflugsziel in Zermatt. Am 20.

Die Zahnradbahn bringt dich vom Dorf auf 1600 Metern bis auf 3100 Meter über Meer. August 1898 fuhr die Gornergrat Bahn als erste elektrische Zahnradbahn der Schweiz zum ersten Mal auf den Gornergrat (3089 Meter). Fortan ermöglichte diese bahntechnische Pionierleistung Gästen aus nah und fern die mystische Berg- und Gletscherwelt oberhalb von Zermatt zu entdecken und prägte die touristische Entwicklung im Matterhorndorf nachhaltig.
