How does the DDP shipping work?
For a general import process: purchase-export-shipping-import-delivery.
*Export*: the supplier do the export declaration to the custom
*Shipping*: by plane, sea and so on.
*Import*: the buyer do the import declaration to the local custom and pay the tax. Usually the buyer needs to provide Packing list, commercial invoice, goods value proof, CE, CO and many certificate if needs.
*delivery*: to door.
DDP means Delivered Duty Paid. It was a price term, but when we divide the import process many different part, it just means door to door shipping with tax and custom clearance.
Then how does it work?
The shipping company will consolidate many goods in the container and do the custom clearance as one company title and pay the tax. After that, they will pass the goods to the delivery company to deliver the goods to your address. So if you can't get the tax document in your company title.
In traditional DDP shipping, the shipper will do all the things for you so you only need to stay at home and receive the goods. But now, usually the shipping company do that parts.
