Let’s take a moment to tell the truth.
Most of us are not exhausted because we’re doing it wrong.
We’re exhausted because we never power down.
Your nervous system is tired. It’s always call or on edge.
A retreat is not luxury.
It’s interruption to the system.
Here’s what actually happens:
You have time and space to breathe more deeply.
You don’t need to check your calendar.
You laugh at dinner with people who were strangers 48 hours ago.
You listen to your body and your move when you want to move. You sleep when you want to sleep and you eat when you want to eat. It’s that simple.
Except it’s not easy to do at home.
It’s a practice.
Practice being in a body that isn’t under attack by urgency.
Practice being seen without tightening up.
Practice letting the body lead.
Maybe you forgot what that feels like.
I did too.
You don’t need permission.
You need breath and a little space.
