When my oldest turned 13, I told her we could go anywhere in the United States for a mother-daughter birthday celebration weekend. She, being a theater kid, immediately chose NYC. We saw shows, ate at fancy restaurants, and shopped! It was blast!

Now, my youngest is about to turn 13. She’s more about wildlife, nature, and loves the ocean. Also, the youngest child always bends the rules a bit 😂 I was already going to be in Costa Rica for work and it was her dream destination. So, she met me in Costa Rica for her birthday celebration! I was so proud of her for flying by herself to a foreign country (and United’s program for unaccompanied minors is amazing!) Thanks !

We loved every moment and maximized 3 nights in Manuel Antonio. We swam in ocean, zip-lined, enjoyed the wildlife (especially the monkeys and sloths), enjoyed the pools, walked through Manuel Antonio National Park, relaxed, and marveled at beautiful sunsets. I am so grateful that I had this time with her, just me and my girl!

Spent a few days at Hacienda AltaGracia, Costa Rica!

This is one of those properties where you could easily never leave, and honestly, you wouldn’t feel like you’re missing anything! Everything is right on property, and it’s all done really well.

There’s a lot to do, but it never feels over programmed. Horseback riding, river bathing, hiking, butterfly garden, and time at the spa all fit really naturally into the experience.

We also made time for a couple classic Costa Rica experiences, visiting a local farm and ziplining through the canopy, both absolutely worth doing while you’re there.

It’s an easy property to recommend because it works for so many types of travelers. You can be as relaxed or as active as you want, and everything is taken care of!

It’s always great to explore luxury properties with the best people in the travel industry.

Staying at our VIP partner, Corinthia London, was absolute perfection. Their team is the best and they always treat our clients like royalty! We didn’t want to leave!

One of my favorite parts of this hotel was that they have spa elevators on every floor that go directly to their INCREDIBLE thermal floor. This amenity will amaze you - especially since it’s complimentary to all guests (even if you don’t book a spa treatment) We put on our robes and slippers and went directly down to the spa - blissful after a full day of walking all over beautiful London!

And, the food is wonderful, there’s fresh flowers everywhere, the service is impeccable, and their location in central London is super convenient!
