Every Aeromarine SRT PRO series tester comes with this keychain.
NO SIGNAL LEFT UNTESTED means full coverage for your GMDSS and AIS surveys on SOLAS vessels, with second-generation beacon support already built in.

๐Ÿšข The maritime professionals remembered by the right people arenโ€™t always the ones with the longest list of credentials. They're the ones who made their experience visible.

We run a blog covering GMDSS and AIS โ€” from regulatory changes and new technology to the standards behind survey work.

But there's a limit to what we can cover from the shore. Some things can only be learned on board โ€” and they rarely end up in print. That's what we'd like to change.

We'd like to feature voices beyond our own โ€” and we'll be straightforward about why it works for both sides.

Here's what you get:

๐Ÿ”ธ Access to an audience that may not overlap with the one you already have: 4,500โ€“5,000 readers a month, almost entirely people working in or around GMDSS and radio surveys. Not a general maritime audience. The specific one. With around 6,500-7,000 page views a month.
๐Ÿ”ธ Your name and a link to your profile or company on the piece.
๐Ÿ”ธ Final say before anything goes live โ€” we shape the draft together, but nothing publishes without your approval.
๐Ÿ”ธ Promotion across our social media with a tag when the piece goes live.

Weโ€™re not looking for polished theory. Weโ€™re looking for field experience: a tricky flag state interpretation, an equipment failure pattern, a procedure gap you've learned to watch for, or how survey work changes across vessel types or flag states.

๐Ÿ“ฉ Drop us a message if you have something in mind.

Two EPIRBs. Same result on the report: PASS.
But the graphs tell a different story.

On one โ€” power output is stable across the full transmission window, phase deviation sits comfortably within limits, the 406 MHz spectrum is clean. On the other โ€” power drifts at the tail end, phase deviation rides the upper boundary, the spectral shape is just inside tolerance.

Both compliant on paper. Both signed off. But one of them may not make it to its next service interval without issues.

This is exactly what signal graphs reveal during EPIRB testing. Not just whether a unit passed โ€” but how it passed.

Three parameters carry that information:
๐Ÿ”ธ Phase deviation vs time
๐Ÿ”ธ Power vs time
๐Ÿ”ธ 406 MHz spectrum

So what does each graph actually show โ€” and what should you be looking for? We cover this in our latest blog post: https://gmdsstesters.com/radio-survey/general/beyond-passfail-signal-graphs-in-professional-epirb-testing.html

AIS Class A vs Class B โ€” for vessel operators, surveyors, and port state control officers, the difference goes far beyond specs.

In our new article, we take a closer look at what really matters in day-to-day operations โ€” from carriage requirements to typical inspection findings.

If you have your own experience to share, we'd appreciate hearing from you.

Sometimes, the smallest details make the biggest difference.
And in MF/HF testing, one of these details keeps showing up in the data we collect.

We analyze how testing is performed in the field with our equipment โ€” and sometimes spot recurring patterns worth sharing.

One of them frequently appears during MF/HF inspections:

โ€ผ๏ธ Measurements are often taken via an attenuator while the tester is set to antenna mode.
In some datasets, this setup mismatch occurred in up to 9 out of 10 inspections.

๐Ÿ”ธ WHY THIS MATTERS
This can lead to inaccurate measurement results โ€” even when the equipment itself is working correctly.
Antenna and attenuator measurements use different internal paths, with different attenuation levels depending on the selected mode.
As a result, power readings may appear lower than they actually are, or fluctuate unexpectedly.

๐Ÿ”ธ A SIMPLE REMINDER
Always make sure the tester mode matches the physical connection.
Itโ€™s a small detail โ€” but a critical one for reliable measurements.

๐Ÿ’ฌ If you have any questions about using our testers, feel free to reach out โ€” weโ€™re always here to help.

โ€œSoftware update needed.โ€
This is a request our support team receives quite often.

In practice, however, the word โ€œsoftwareโ€ may refer to two different things in test equipment.

FIRMWARE UPDATE
โœ” Updates the code embedded inside the tester
โœ” May affect device behaviour and measurement functions
โœ” Installed directly on the device

SOFTWARE UPDATE
โœ” Updates the control application used to operate the tester
โœ” Runs on a PC, tablet or smartphone
โœ” May affect the user interface, configuration options and test reporting

Both types of updates are important โ€” but they affect different parts of the system.
So when contacting support about an update, a quick clarification โ€” firmware or software โ€” helps us guide you to the correct update much faster. ๐Ÿค

๐Ÿš€ Dear customers, weโ€™re introducing an important update to our GMDSS Multi Software โ€” with significant improvements to functionality and usability.
This upgrade is available for Aeromarine SRT testers across generations, including MRTS-7 Pro and Beacon Tester Pro.

Whatโ€™s new:

โœ… REDESIGNED TEST RESULTS INTERFACE
Quickly find and manage measurements with intuitive sorting by equipment, vessel MMSI, or inspection date.

โœ… REWORKED SURVEY PAGES
A structured workflow for entering data on beacons, hydrostats, and vessels โ€” aligned with real inspection practice.

โœ… DYNAMIC REPORTS ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Dynamic reporting for AIS and EPIRB inspections.
Fill out mandatory Pass/Fail checklists directly in the software. No more manual forms or separate PDFs/Excel files. Every survey entry is saved and synchronized, building a complete and reliable inspection history.

โœ… REFERENCE VALUES ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Measurement results for VHF, MF/HF, DSC, AIS, AIS-SART, radar SART and EPIRB tests are automatically compared with applicable IMO reference limits. Compliance status is displayed immediately.

Why it matters:

This is more than a software update โ€” it streamlines inspections, reduces manual work, and provides clear compliance visibility.
Update your software to access the new functionality!
