✈️🇫🇷 Paris Airports Strike on June 18 Could Cause Major Delays

Ground staff at all three major Paris airports, Charles de Gaulle Airport, Paris Orly Airport, and Le Bourget Airport are set to stage a 24-hour strike on June 18, 2026, potentially disrupting travel during the busy summer season. The strike has been called by several French unions representing airport employees.

Unlike an air traffic control strike, airports are expected to remain open and flights will continue operating. However, passengers should expect longer check-in times, baggage handling delays, slower aircraft turnarounds, security queue congestion, and possible flight delays throughout the day.

🛰️✈️ Wizz Air to Introduce Starlink Wi-Fi Across Its Fleet

Wizz Air has announced a partnership with Starlink to equip its aircraft with high-speed satellite internet, becoming the first European ultra-low-cost carrier to offer Starlink connectivity fleet-wide.

The rollout is expected to begin in 2027 and will provide passengers with fast and reliable internet access throughout their journey, including over remote regions where traditional connectivity is often limited.

Multiple airlines over the past few years have announced that they are bringing Starlink-based connectivity to their aircraft. In the US, United Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Alaska Airlines and American Airlines have all committed to the service. While in Europe, IAG and Lufthansa Group are among the largest operators to sign with Elon Musk.

✈️ IndiGo Suspends Kuwait Flights Until June 4 Amid Airspace Closure

IndiGo has temporarily suspended all flights to and from Kuwait until June 4, 2026, following the closure of Kuwaiti airspace after escalating regional security concerns and attacks affecting airport operations. Although Kuwait has since partially resumed airport operations, flight schedules remain heavily disrupted and airlines are continuing to monitor the situation.

✈️🇩🇪 Germany Lifts Airport Transit Visa Requirement for Indian Nationals

Germany has officially removed the airport transit visa requirement for Indian nationals, making it easier for Indian travelers to connect through German airports without obtaining a separate transit visa. ✈️🇵🇹 Portugal Faces Major Transport Strike on June 3

Portugal is preparing for a major nationwide transport strike on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, with significant disruption expected across air travel, rail services, metros, ferries, and public transport as unions protest the government’s proposed labor reforms.
