**Not every destination is equally travelable 🌍**
You don’t travel to Tunisia in quite the same way you might travel to Mallorca.
And that’s not about one destination being “better” than the other.
It’s about the distance – geographical, cultural and sometimes emotional.
A short flight, a familiar environment and a destination you already know require a different kind of decision than a journey that involves more planning, a different culture, another language and stepping into the unknown.
When a trip requires more time, more money and more emotional preparation, travelers need more than beautiful pictures.
They need **context.**
How do people live there?
What should I expect?
How do I behave?
Will I feel comfortable?
Can I communicate?
All these little pieces help a destination become **travelable** – not just geographically, but mentally.
Because the first journey is often the hardest.
You arrive with questions.
And you leave with experiences.
Suddenly, the unfamiliar becomes familiar.
Curiosity becomes connection.
And the question changes from:
*“Is Tunisia for me?”*
to:
**“When can I go back?”**
I’m seeing this right now with two travelers I’ll be accompanying on private trips to Tunisia this autumn and winter.
Both have already travelled to Tunisia with me on a group journey.
It was their first time in the country.
Now they are coming back – this time privately, more individually, and with their own ideas of what they want to discover.
And for me, that is the best proof:
**The first journey creates trust.
The second journey creates belonging.**
Perhaps this is what good destination marketing should be about:
Not simply convincing people to book.
But helping them cross the threshold in the first place.
Sometimes, a destination just needs someone to open the door. 🇹🇳
