Exciting news for sustainable transportation! 🌍

Did you know that projected CO2 emissions from logistics could reach a staggering 5.466 billion tonnes by 2050?

In response to this pressing issue, the Smart Freight Centre developed and launched the industry's first common guideline - the GLEC Framework - for harmonized emissions calculation and reporting, covering the entire global multi-modal supply chain already back in 2016.

Now, the GLEC Framework has received a major update to Version 3.0. This new version incorporates the latest findings on emission factors, incorporates updates from new source versions, and is fully aligned with the new ISO 14083 standard.

At Forto, we're proud to rely on the GLEC Framework as the foundation for our transport emissions calculations. It's a crucial part of our commitment to a sustainable future, ensuring that our actions are both transparent and impactful.🌱

Today is World Maritime Day! 🌊

Sea transportation is vital for the global economy, accounting for 80% of global trade. The International Maritime Organization - IMO tirelessly works to enhance shipping efficiency, reliability, and sustainability in line with the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

We, at Forto, have a mission to keep our waterways clean. We explore sustainable fuel alternatives and actively combat pollution to make a positive impact. 🛡️

Our new initiative, Ocean Plastic Prevention, tackles pollution at its source by targeting river-borne debris. We've partnered with Plastic Fischer GmbH to collect and manage plastic from the heavily polluted Citarum river. Through this program, companies can purchase plastic credits based on the collected amount.

Starting today until UN World Sustainable Transport Day on November 26, for every kilogram of prevented ocean plastic that a customer procures, Forto will purchase an additional kilogram, up to a total of 10,000 kilograms. 🌎🤝
