Meeting with BSH on Certificates of Competency

A meeting with representatives of the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) took place last week on board FAIRPLAY-98 with a clear goal: to simplify and streamline the application process for certificates of competency for our seafarers.

Together, we discussed how the cooperation between FAIRPLAY and the BSH can run even more smoothly in the future. The focus was on how processes related to certificates of competency can be simplified to the benefit of all parties involved, and most importantly, our crews.

We are pleased that the exchange was so open and constructive, and we are confident that we will develop good solutions together.

On 20 May, a group of 13 students from technical school in Wejherowo visited us in Gdynia to be provided with vocational training. After the training, the students were guided on board of FAIRPLAY-97, and then brought for a short cruise to President’s Basin in Gdynia. The meeting was arranged in cooperation with Positive Initiatives Foundation.
This is not the first time we have organised such events with the Foundation – last year we hosted another group of students and took a similar trip around!

It’s always a great joy for us to welcome and educate young generation on the board!

We are happy to announce that on April 19, the basketball team from the local club
BSA AMW Arka Gdynia BSA AMW Arka Gdynia that we support, won the match with the team from Poznan, and ensured their place in finals of the Polish Championships in U-17 category!

Observing young talents and such a successful team is something to be proud of.
Congratulations and good luck in the upcoming final games!

On 11 March, one of our tug operating in Poland – Serwal 3 – was carried out by the newly arrived FAIRPLAY-40 on her last journey. Serwal 3, built in 1962, remembered the times of Fairplay activity on the local waters since early beginnings. Her final cruise with the assistance of the youngest tug in our fleet was truly sentimental, marking an important point on our Company’s timeline.

We are thankful for the long-term service of Serwal 3 and excited about the working opportunities with the use of FAIRPLAY-40!

Thanks to our cooperation with the Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority and the Maritime Office in Szczecin, and despite heavy ice conditions, the actions taken together have ensured smooth port traffic during the whole winter time! 💪

It proves that nothing can surprise us at work, even weather patterns that were highly unpredictable in recent weeks.

Keeping the pace high, we are glad to work in milder conditions now, and looking forward to spring welcoming!

The first weeks of 2026 are being such a busy and intense time for us!
On 10 February, AIDAPrima cruise ship entered the Port of Gdynia where our tugs – FAIRPLAY-VII, FAIRPLAY-XVI, FAIRPLAY-71 - assisted her and performed a special dance on her arrival!
AIDAPrima, docked at The French Quay, was the first cruise liner that appeared in Gdynia this year, thus opened the new season of sea voyages.
