Seven ports. Two continents. One impressive view from Koper. 👀

Our "Linah" connects the Adriatic ports of Koper and Rijeka with Algeciras before continuing to Singapore, Ningbo, Shanghai and Tanjung Pelepas.

A route stretching from Southern Europe to some of Asia’s major shipping hubs, pictured here against the blue water of Koper.

⚽🏆 The Champions League is back. And every place in it has to be earned.

The same idea applies to sustainability management. Hapag-Lloyd has moved from Silver to Gold in the latest EcoVadis Sustainability Rating* – placing us among the top 5% of companies assessed by EcoVadis over the previous 12 months. A result we are proud of.

EcoVadis looks at how companies manage sustainability across four areas: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. And good intentions alone are not enough – policies, actions and results need evidence behind them.

For our customers, that means more transparency into how Hapag-Lloyd manages sustainability-related topics across the business.

And this is not happening somewhere in the background: more than 180 customers already have access to our EcoVadis result and can use it as part of their own supply-chain assessments.

So, in football terms:

🥈 Silver → Gold

🏆 Top 5%

🤝 More transparency for our customers

We have earned our place in sustainability’s top league. Now the challenge is to keep earning it.

Because the benchmark keeps moving – and the next level, Platinum, starts with the top 1%.

*EcoVadis Gold recognition issued in August 2026. The recognition relates to the sustainability management system of the assessed Hapag-Lloyd entity and is valid for 12 months from publication of the scorecard. It is not a certification or a product or service sustainability label. Gold represents the top 5% of companies assessed by EcoVadis over the previous 12 months across all industries worldwide.

Beach chair with a vessel view. Not bad. 👀

Our "Tayma Express" passed the beach of Schillig after leaving Wilhelmshaven, bound for Hamburg.

A front-row seat for vessel spotting, without even leaving the sand.

Have you ever spotted one of our vessels from the beach? Tell us where in the comments. ⬇️

What makes decarbonization credible?

At Hapag-Lloyd, Ship Green* enables customers to allocate certified alternative fuels to their bookings through Book & Claim. Equally important is how that fuel is allocated.

Each quarter, customers receive a declaration of the alternative fuel batches allocated to them. The stated well-to-wake emissions reduction is calculated from the carbon intensity of those batches, not a network average.

As ‌David Remmers, Manager Decarbonization Products, explains, this means every declared reduction is linked to specific fuel batches that customers can name in their own reporting.

*Ship Green is a service that can be added to a Hapag-Lloyd ocean shipment. Hapag-Lloyd uses certified alternative fuels for part of its fuel consumption within its network and allocates the associated emission reductions to booked Ship Green shipments through a Book & Claim approach. This does not necessarily mean that a specific shipment is physically transported on vessels using these alternative fuels. Ship Green 25, 50 and 100 refer to the share of a shipment's energy allocated to certified alternative fuels, not to the percentage of emissions reduced. The numbers currently correspond to Well-to-Wake emission reductions of at least 21%, 42% and 84% compared with conventional transport using Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (VLSFO).
