🌍 It's time for another exciting GoGlobal story!

This time, our colleague Cenk from Hamburg, Germany, shares his experiences from his three-month stay at our branch in Houston, USA, as part of the GoGlobal program. Enjoy the read!

After 3.5 years at FMS, I had the great opportunity to spend three months working at the Houston office as part of the GoGlobal program. During this time, I gained valuable insights into the daily workflows and several business areas of the US office. I was also able to attend the Houston International Maritime Conference, where I learned a lot about local processes and current challenges in the industry.

The colleagues in Houston were incredibly kind, welcoming, and supportive, and they really took great care of me throughout my stay. Working in such an international environment was a truly enriching experience. Outside of work, I had the chance to attend NBA and MMA events, as well as other sports events. I also visited the NASA museum, which was an unforgettable experience. I am very grateful for this amazing time, the great colleagues, and the opportunity to be part of this program.

Throwback to 1948 and a Büssing truck from FMS Lübeck’s long-distance transport fleet.
Even though our trucks look different today and are more modern, our commitment to reliability and close relationships with our customers has remained the same.

Pride Month is a reminder that diversity makes us stronger.

As a global company, we work every day with colleagues, partners, and customers from different cultures, backgrounds, perspectives, and identities. This diversity is one of our greatest strengths — and mutual respect is a fundamental part of how we work together.

Pride is not only a celebration of diversity and inclusion, but also a reminder that equality, respect, and belonging should never be taken for granted. It is a sign of solidarity and a stand against discrimination and injustice in all forms.

We believe in a colorful, open, and tolerant society where everyone is treated with dignity and respect — regardless of who they are or whom they love.

This Pride Month, and every month, we stand for respect, inclusion, and the value of diversity. 🌍🏳️‍🌈

Fr. Meyer’s Sohn South Africa is proud to sponsor the maritime education of two students at the Lawhill Maritime Centre at Simon's Town School as part of its commitment to developing future maritime talent in South Africa.

The programme equips young people in Grades 10 to 12 with a strong academic foundation and hands‑on exposure to the maritime sector, preparing them for future careers both ashore and at sea. Their training includes key areas such as maritime geography, port operations, global trade patterns, shipping, chartering, ship broking, cargo clearing, and maritime ecology.

We look forward to welcoming the two students to the Fr. Meyer’s Sohn family for onsite work experience, supported by mentorship and professional guidance.

In international logistics, we connect people, markets and cultures every day. Local business habits, communication styles and infrastructure can strongly influence how smoothly supply chains run and partnerships grow.

Today we are showcasing Brazil.
Brazil is Latin America’s largest economy and a key player in global trade – from soybeans, iron ore and coffee to industrial and consumer goods. It’s also a country where personal relationships, trust and relaxed small talk often come first, before business moves forward. Beyond the office, Brazil offers vibrant cities, rich regional food, famous beaches and plenty of must‑see places that make every business trip an experience.

Last Friday, our FMS Barcelona team went straight from the office to the “Fiesta de la Logística de Barcelona”, the Buti Buti 2026. 🎉

Once again, the event showed how important personal exchange beyond video calls is for our industry.

Alongside great discussions about the future of transport and supply chains, there was, of course, the traditional butifarra. Many thanks to all partners and colleagues for the great exchange and the enjoyable time together!

Together with FMS North America, our newly joined colleagues from CFT Corporations spent the week representing us at Pulses26 in Orlando, the largest global gathering for the pulses industry.

With over 450 companies in attendance, it was an intense but rewarding three days, and we were thrilled to see how strongly CFT is positioned in this sector.

Since we welcomed CFT into the FMS Group through our acquisition in March, the collaboration has grown quickly, and this event was a great milestone in our shared journey.

We’re especially delighted to see Steven Pocklington contributing to one of the conference’s discussion panels. And if you noticed the event lanyards — those were supplied by us too (visible in photo #2).

We look forward to many more successful moments together.

International Day for Women in Maritime 🚢

In the traditionally male-dominated maritime industry, the International Day for Women in Maritime, celebrated every year on 18 May since 2022, sends out a strong signal: it honours women working in maritime professions, promotes their recruitment, retention and long-term career development, and highlights their diverse contributions across the sector. Established by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the day aims to address the persistent gender imbalance in this field.
All the more reason for us to be proud that 50% of FMS employees are women - a powerful statement for genuine equality and inclusive career opportunities.
