🛫 ♻ How do you compare the environmental footprint of different ULDs across their full lifetime?
The air cargo industry now has a shared standard: the ULD Climate Impact Label, presented at this year's ULD CARE Conference in Athens.

We we are proud to receive our certificate! 😀

The ULD Climate Impact Label standardises how the total lifetime environmental impact of Unit Load Devices is measured and communicated.

The label is the result of a cross-industry effort. As a family-run manufacturer, we brought our practical experience from production and repair to the process an we are proud to have received the label and certificate for our products.

✈️ ☀️ This year, we brought our summer celebration to a place that means a lot to us: right to the heart of Frankfurt Airport where our ULDs work every single day.

To give our team a real look behind the scenes, we had a two-hour bus tour across the entire airfield, guided by an expert who showed us how cargo moves on the apron.

Watching pallets and containers being handled out there brought some genuinely great moments. „There's our pallet!" was probably the sentence of the day 😉

Seeing our products in action, out where they belong, made all of us proud to be part of this industry. We wrapped up the day with lunch at the airport and dinner at the Historische Wassermühle Birgel
An adventure our whole team will remember. 👏

Days like these are what the PalNet family is all about. A big thank you to everyone who made this day happen. ✈️

🗓 ✈️ From September 29 to October 1, the ULD CARE 37th Annual Conference brings the Unit Load Device community together in Athens, and we will be there.

For us this is more than a date in the calendar. Sustainability is one of the areas where we want to help move the whole industry forward, not just our own products.

🌿 That is why our team is active in working groups that are shaping the next steps of the ULD Climate Impact Label.

The label rates how environmentally sound a ULD really is, based on factors like weight, spare part availability and second-life potential. Those are exactly the questions a manufacturer answers on the workshop floor: how light can we build it, how easily can we repair it, how long can it stay in service.

We are looking forward to three days of exchange with airlines, partners and fellow ULD experts, and to turning shared standards into real impact.

✈️ Behind every certified ULD is a set of standards that someone has to help write.

Our Design Manager and CAE Engineer Jaydeep Tarsariya sits on the SAE AGE-2 committee, where the industry develops the Aerospace Standards, including AS36100 and AS36102, that the FAA and EASA rely on for TSO-C90 and ETSO-C90 certification.

At the IATA World Cargo Symposium in Lima, Jaydeep represented PalNet at the IATA ULDB and SAE AGE-2 committee meetings, working alongside Dennis Demtröder on the regulations that keep ULDs airworthy.

Staying close to the standards as they evolve is how we keep our pallets and containers durable, certified and ready for customers worldwide.

✈️ The DHL team visited PalNet to introduce their new tracking system, especially designed for our air cargo pallets.

The tracking device can be easily accessed inside the edge rails.

Frank Steinert and his team explained to our PalNet technicians how to install the devices.

🛫🇨🇳 Dennis Demtröder has just returned from Shanghai after representing PalNet at this year’s Air Cargo China.

The three days at the exhibition center focused entirely on ULD utilization, hardware durability under high load factors, and regional fleet requirements.

Personal meetings are irreplaceable when refining global equipment standards.

We utilized our time to conduct direct technical reviews with our long-term business partners Jettainer, , and Gita Aviation.

🐢🐢On a side note: we also managed to rescue two turtels from ending up in a cooking pot, safely releasing them back into nature instead.
