Okay…this upcoming work trip may not be for everyone. And that’s exactly why I’m going🌴
One of the most valuable things I can offer my clients as a travel advisor is firsthand experience; especially when it comes to resorts and travel styles that are a little…..outside the ordinary.
This November, Doug and I are heading to Riviera Maya for a familiarization trip where we’ll experience three VERY different versions of an adults-only Mexico vacation.
First: El Dorado.
Romantic, adults-only, all-inclusive luxury. Beautiful grounds, great food, pools, beaches and the kind of relaxed, upscale escape many couples picture when they think of Riviera Maya.
Then… Desire Riviera Maya.
And this is where the trip gets a little more interesting. 👀
Desire is a couples-only, clothing-optional resort centered around freedom, connection, sensuality and creating an environment where couples can explore a completely different kind of vacation together. 🌶️ 🔥 ❤️
Yes. We’re staying there…. 😬
I already know half of you are thinking, “Lindsey, absolutely NOT.” 😂
But I also know there’s another group quietly thinking…
“Okay, but I need you to tell me EVERYTHING.”👩🍳 👂 ⚡️
And THAT is exactly why I want to experience it firsthand.
What does it actually feel like when you arrive? Is it intimidating? Awkward? Surprisingly comfortable? What are the rooms, food and service really like? What’s the atmosphere during the day versus at night? And most importantly—what kind of couple would absolutely love this experience, and who would I tell to choose somewhere else?
Obviously, privacy is incredibly important at a resort like Desire, so there are parts of this stay that won’t, and shouldn’t, be photographed or shared. But I’ll absolutely be sharing my experience from a travel-advisor perspective.
And then we change gears completely: Hotel Xcaret Arte.
Architecture. Art. Culture. Incredible dining. Parks, excursions and experiences. A completely different approach to luxury in Mexico and one I’m incredibly excited to experience again.
Three resorts.
Three COMPLETELY different vacation styles.
And one of the biggest reasons I take trips like this…
So when a client asks me, “But Lindsey… where should WE go?” I can answer from experience, not just a brochure or website.
Because the “best” resort isn’t necessarily the one with the most stars, the highest price tag or the prettiest pictures.
It’s the one that fits you.
So now I have to know…
Could you EVER vacation at a clothing-optional couples resort?
Option 1: Absolutely not.
Option 2: I’m intrigued…but nervous.
Option 3: Maybe after a couple of margaritas.
Option 3: Already packing.
No judgment from me either way.
I’ll do the research. 😉✈️
