Did you know we’ve been helping curate kayaking itineraries across Ecuador based on decades of local river experience?

Growing up in Ecuador, Abby has spent years exploring remote rivers, mountain towns, jungle routes, hidden waterfalls, and the places most travellers never get to see.

One of the things that makes Ecuador so special for kayaking is the sheer variety. Within roughly a 3-hour perimeter, there are 30–40 rivers ranging from Class I all the way to Class V — making it one of the biggest concentrations of accessible whitewater in South America.

That experience helps us create trips that are more than just kayaking.

From choosing the right rivers at the right time of year, to finding incredible places to stay, eat, explore, and unwind after a day on the water — every itinerary is built from real experience and genuine local knowledge.

We also work alongside certified local guides who know these rivers inside and out, helping create safe, authentic, and unforgettable experiences on the water.

The goal has always been simple:
create the kind of adventure we’d want to join ourselves.

Ecuador has so much more to offer than people realise, and we love helping others experience that side of it 🌿

MORE THAN JUST THE ADVENTURE.....IT'S THE FOOD TOO 🇪🇨

At Rivers & Peaks, we believe the experience doesn't end when we step off the water - it continues around the table.

Alongside time spent exploring rivers and the outdoors, we carefully choose places to eat that reflect the best of Ecuador, from relaxed local spots to memorable dining experiences.

You might find yourself starting the day with fresh tropical fruit, stopping for something simple and local in town, or enjoying a relaxed meal in a beautiful setting after a full day outside.

Back at base, everything is taken care of. Abby and I prepare fresh, nourishing meals for the group, and when Kelsey (our SUP guide) is with us , she's's right there with us - bringing her energy from the water into the kitchen too.

It's a balance of adventure and comfort, where the details are thoughtfully handled and the atmosphere stays relaxed and welcoming.

Good food, beautiful places, and time well spent - that's what it's all about.
