Behind every container that reaches its destination is a crew that navigated open waters, a port team that kept cargo moving day and night, and countless people whose work is rarely seen. Most of what the world trades still moves by sea, and this work carries the first, often longest leg of that journey.

Cargo of a certain scale can't simply arrive; the capacity to receive it has to be ready first. In 2015, the turbines bound for Egypt's Burullus power project weighed up to 480 tons each, and moving them meant transforming a fishing port into one that could handle heavy-lift loads.

Over seven months, through rough winter weather, the team extended the breakwater, dredged the channel, reinforced the quay wall, and built a storage yard inside the port, all while securing permits and clearing the working area. The first gas turbine arrived on schedule.

This achievement made NOSCO the first heavy-transport company to upgrade a port for heavy operations. Ten years on, it remains one of the operations the team looks back on with pride and a mark of the experience behind how we handle complex cargo today.

Egypt is in the middle of the largest railway expansion in recent history, with high-speed rail, metro lines, monorails, and Light Rail Transit (LRT) changing how the country moves.
