📱✈️ : Two apps I think every international traveler should know BEFORE leaving home: WhatsApp + WeChat.

Here in the U.S., texting is second nature. But once you travel internationally, you'll quickly discover that the rest of the world doesn't necessarily communicate the same way we do.

🌎 WhatsApp has become one of my most-used travel tools. I’ve used it to communicate with hotels, tour guides, drivers, restaurants and local businesses—often faster than email. You can message, call, share your location and send photos using Wi-Fi or mobile data instead of relying on international SMS.

🇨🇳 WeChat becomes especially important when traveling in China. Beyond messaging, it can be used for translations, payments and a huge ecosystem of services that travelers may encounter along the way.

My advice: Download and set up these apps before your trip, especially if you're heading somewhere they're commonly used.

Sometimes traveling smarter isn't about finding a secret airfare deal or saving hundreds of dollars. It's simply having the right tools already on your phone when you need them.

Most travel content is repetitive, overly aspirational, and leaves travelers overwhelmed by options, wasting time, overpaying for convenience, and showing up with the wrong expectations.

People don’t need more dreamy footage. They need clarity.

🤢 DONT get sick in Bali, it never ends. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t eat or be adventurous with your food choices. Bali has some of the best food I’ve ever ate. But, continue being a smart traveler and be cautious. 🍚

Here are some tips:

🧼 don’t drink the water in the shower
🚿 definitely don’t drink the water from the faucet
💦 make sure you buy sealed water bottles
🧊 do not order ice in any of your drinks
💊 bring or buy charcoal tablets in case you do get sick
