A slightly late post from our trip back to the U.S. last month. We just passed our 10 year anniversary of living abroad (!), and still, after all these years, feel torn between two places. There are soooo many things that are exciting, and challenging, and fun about living in Europe, but we’ve come to recognize all of the great parts about America too - the diversity, the innovation, the opportunity, to name a few. We love the ease of being home; the American friendliness, the small talk, the free water! 😂. But most of all, our families. Which is why we try to come back at least once or twice a year, especially for big moments like high school graduation. This trip was flatirons hikes & grad parties; self driving cars & Michelin dinners; plaza potlucks & vineyard views. We came home from Boulder, San Francisco and Sonoma feeling the familiar pull of where we belong, the knowing that home can exist in multiple places, and the gratitude for a life of freedom and flexibility to bop around the world and spend time with the people we love most.
