🔐 What does it mean to be AEO certified?

One of the key advantages of working with Varador 2000 is our certification as an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO).

This certification enables us to offer a more streamlined, secure, and efficient customs process for international clients. It is particularly valuable for eligible non-European Union vessels that may benefit from the Temporary Customs Procedure (TPA) while undergoing maintenance, repair, or refit works at our facilities.

To generally qualify for the TPA regime, a vessel must:

Be registered outside the European Union.
Be owned by a non-EU resident or legal entity.
Not have been permanently imported into the European Union.

When these conditions are met, and in accordance with the applicable customs legislation, eligible non-EU vessels may benefit from relief from import duties and VAT on the repair, maintenance, or refit works carried out while the vessel remains under the TPA regime.

As an AEO-certified shipyard, Varador 2000 helps clients manage these customs procedures efficiently and in full compliance with EU customs regulations, providing greater flexibility, legal certainty, and added value for international refit projects.
