A passion for aviation, in miniature. ✈️

Sometimes, a passion for aviation goes far beyond flying, maintaining or working around aircraft.

Today we wanted to share the work of Michael MikyMike , an aviation enthusiast who dedicates part of his free time to creating these remarkable handmade scale models.

And, of course, some Air Tractors have found their way into his collection. 💛

From the shape of the aircraft and their liveries to the smallest markings and even the weathering that recreates the appearance of a real working aircraft, every model reflects many hours of patience, craftsmanship and, above all, a genuine love for aviation.

For those of us who work with these aircraft every day, seeing them reproduced at this scale and with this level of dedication is something very special.

Michael, thank you for sharing your work with us and for bringing the world of aviation to life — just on a slightly smaller scale! ✈️

A new Air Tractor is now EASA certified. Welcome, AT-504! ✈️🇪🇺

The Air Tractor AT-504 has received EASA type certification, marking an important milestone for the aircraft and opening new possibilities for Air Tractor operators in Europe.

Designed as a two-seat aircraft with side-by-side seating and dual controls, the AT-504 combines the robust Air Tractor platform with a configuration particularly suited to training and demanding aerial work.

Some of its key characteristics include:

✈️ Side-by-side two-seat cockpit with dual controls

⚙️ Pratt & Whitney PT6A-34AG turboprop engine

💪 680 SHP

💧 500 US gallon (1,893 litre) hopper

Few missions start from a major airport 🔥

One of the characteristics that makes the Air Tractor AT-802 particularly versatile is its ability to operate from relatively short and unpaved airstrips.

In aerial firefighting, this capability has an important operational advantage: bringing the aircraft closer to the areas where it may be needed.

📍 Closer operating bases can mean shorter transit times.

🔥 Shorter transit times can contribute to a faster initial attack.

🛬 The ability to use different types of airfields provides operators with greater flexibility when planning their deployments.

🌍 And that flexibility becomes particularly valuable when operating across different countries, terrains and fire seasons.

The AT-802 was developed from a family of aircraft designed for demanding aerial work, where robustness, simplicity and the ability to operate away from major airport infrastructure are fundamental.

Today, those characteristics are part of what makes the AT-802 such a versatile platform for aerial firefighting operations around the world.

At Aviation Trade Europe, we believe that sometimes the most important capability of an aircraft isn’t just what it can do in the air.

It’s where it can operate from.

When every minute counts, choosing the right aircraft can make all the difference.

The Air Tractor AT-802 has earned its reputation through decades of real-world operations, becoming one of the most trusted aerial firefighting platforms worldwide.

Why do operators continue to choose the AT-802?

💧 Up to 3,100 litres (820 US gallons) of water or retardant in a single sortie.

⚡ Outstanding initial attack capability, reaching emerging fires quickly before they escalate.

🛠️ Simple and robust design, allowing high availability and efficient maintenance throughout the fire season.

🌍 Proven in diverse environments, from Mediterranean landscapes to mountainous terrain and remote regions across the world.

🛬 Ability to operate from short and unpaved airstrips, bringing aerial firefighting assets closer to high-risk areas.

🌊 Available as the Fire Boss amphibious configuration, capable of scooping water directly from lakes, reservoirs and suitable water sources, dramatically reducing turnaround times.

At Aviation Trade Europe, we have supported the Air Tractor AT-802 for nearly two decades through sales, maintenance, pilot and technician training, and technical support, helping operators get the very best from their aircraft.

Because proven performance is built on experience.

🇪🇺✈️ When wildfires put Europe under pressure, proven aerial assets make the difference.

Recent operations in France have once again shown the strategic role of the Air Tractor AT-802 in European firefighting. According to recent reports, eight AT-802 aircraft have been mobilised to support the response to major wildfires in southern France, including aircraft from France, Spain, Sweden and Cyprus through national deployments and the EU rescEU mechanism.

This is not an isolated case. Across Europe, the AT-802 has become a highly valued firefighting platform thanks to its versatility, operational efficiency and ability to be rapidly deployed where it is needed most.

Whether operating from land bases or in its amphibious Fire Boss configuration, the AT-802 is especially well suited for initial attack, continuous water drops, temporary bases and operations close to the affected area. Its proven track record, reliability and flexibility make it a key asset for national and European wildfire response strategies.

At Aviation Trade Europe, we are proud to support an aircraft that continues to demonstrate its value in real operations, season after season, helping protect lives, communities and natural environments across Europe.
