What does Lanzarote look like from an e-bike saddle? Some of our customers rode four days around the island last week and sent us their Relive videos. Here's the answer in under 30 seconds.

Day one went north: the palm valley of Haría, the cliffs above Famara and the orange radar dome at Peñas del Chache. Day two looped through La Santa, Tinajo and Mozaga, past the vineyards and the Monumento al Campesino. Day three was the long one, right across the island to Playa Blanca through Timanfaya, the green lagoon at El Golfo and Los Hervideros. The last ride went from Playa Blanca back to Arrecife.

Sara () took one of our Berria road bikes to the Vuelta Ciclista a Lanzarote.

Friday was the first ride on it. On Saturday she won the time trial at Mirador del Río and pulled on the best time trial jersey. On Sunday she did it again, in Timanfaya.

Thanks for trusting us with your race, Sara. Two wins on a bike you met two days earlier is a weekend to remember.

What's in the fleet at Papagayo Bike? Pretty much whatever Lanzarote asks of you.

It starts with top road bikes: carbon frames, Ultegra Di2, the kind of machine you usually only get to ride on a race weekend.

Then MTB and gravel, for the volcanic trails and the tracks where the asphalt runs out.

City bikes too, for the days you just want to roll along the seafront with no plan at all.

And e-bikes and kids' bikes, so nobody in the group gets left behind, whatever their legs or their age.

Normal or electric? Look again. It is the same road bike.

Both are built for the same Lanzarote roads. The only real difference is what happens when the road tilts up and the trade winds hit you head on.

Go normal if you want the effort raw, every climb earned, nothing between you and the kilometre.
Go e-road if you want to hold a faster group's wheel, ride further than your legs alone would carry you, or turn a brutal headwind into just a nice view.

Same frame, same fit, same care in the workshop. We rent both. You decide how hard the island gets to push back.

Black lava on both sides, the Atlantic wide open below, and nothing ahead but clean tarmac and the hum of your own wheels.
