Hallo Vardø! The E75 Art Bus is a multidisciplinary art festival travelling along the route E75 for six weeks now. The unique journey culminates at the End of the Road minifestival in Vardø, where the E75 road ends. Welcome to our pop-up events in different locations of central Vardø!

Saara Kumpulainen: The Sorrow Bearer
Installation invites everyone to attend by scattering sea salt into a tear bottle as a gesture of releasing sorrows and let them go.

17:00-17:45 Please note, the collected sorrows will be scattered into the Barents Sea in a Release of Sorrows ritual at Sjøkanten, sjøsiden.

This interactive sound installation shows how we collect memory and look back through colored glasses.

Sunčica Pasuljević Kandić: Earthly Storytelling – Tales of Water
Tales of water come as a constellation of voices like sediments and gestures as ripples in the current. Woven across landscapes along the E75 highway route it is an exploration of coexistence between humans and non humans in the times of crisis.

Timjune: Free as Birds
A vocal performance. An ongoing interdisciplinary project that explores the shared trajectories of avian and human life. Operating across disciplines, Li utilizes their four-octave vocal capacity as a core material within the work.

Polena Kolia Petersen: LOITSUT at the end of the world
A dance performance – a moving ode to the generation of loneliness and vanity.

E75 Taidebussi seikkailee E75-tietä pitkin kuuden viikon ajan keväällä 2026. Toukokuun 13. palataan sinne mistä lähdettiin, eli Ouluun!

Matkan ytimessä on 9 taiteilijan ryhmä, joka toteuttaa monitaiteellisia esityksiä, installaatioita ja työpajoja matkan varrella. Oulussa on mukana 6 taiteilijaa, ja lisäksi esitetään 2 aiemmin bussista jääneen teokset. Teoksissa käsitellään demokratiaa, ilmastokriisiä, moninaisuutta ja yhteisöllisyyttä. Ohjelma ja aikataulu Tukikohdalla 13.5. klo 17–21:

17-21: Saara Kumpulainen: The Sorrow Bearer
Installaatio kutsuu pysähtymään surujen äärelle – ne voivat olla henkilökohtaisia, paikallisia tai globaaleja. Voit osallistua ripottelemalla merisuolaa teokseen symbolisena eleenä suruista irtipäästämiseksi. Kerätyt surut vapautetaan Jäämereen seuraavalla viikolla Norjan Vuoreijassa.

17–21: Sjors Hoogerdijk: Modulating Histories
Interaktiivinen ääniteos muistojen rakentumisesta. Yleisö voi lisätä äänensä luuppeihin, jotka hiljalleen hajoavat ja sulautuvat osaksi äänimaiseman kakofoniaa.

16.30–17.30: Polena Kolia Petersen: COMMON(ing) DANCES
Osallistava sosiaalinen koreografia, puoliksi esitys, puoliksi työpaja. Jokainen osallistuja saa sekä johtaa että seurata. Mitä syntyy, kun liikumme yhdessä tilassa ja ajassa?

18: Jenni-Juulia Wallinheimo-Heimonen: Elephants Never Forget
Performatiivinen puheenvuoro esteettömyydestä. Saavutettavuus on valintaa siitä, kuka jää kulttuurin muistiin ja kuka katoaa. Jokainen, joka saapuu tänään Tukikohdalle, kirjoittaa historiaa, m***a ajatteleeko kukaan, ketä täältä puuttuu?

18.30: Balbina Bochuzynska: Engin The Kurkku
Lyhytelokuva on esimerkki osallistavasta elokuvantekokonseptista, joka on saanut inspiraationsa surrealistisesta pelistä Exquisite Co**se.

19: Yhteisöllinen hävikkiruokailu: Tarjolla kasvis- ja vegaaniruokaa – pyritään minimoimaan hävikki. Kaikki tervetulleita!

20: Timjune: Free as Birds
Multimediaprojisointi ja lauluesitys. Timjune kuvittelee uudelleen maisemaa, äänimaisemia ja ihmisääntä.

Part of the official Oulu2026 program, this marks a special rendez-vous between two European Capitals of Culture, as Liepāja will hold the title in 2027.

The E75 Art Bus arrives with pop-up event in Trenčín, Slovakia, as part of its journey across Europe, connecting artists and communities along the 11,000 km E75 route from the Arctic to the Mediterranean and back. The project is part of the official Oulu2026 program, making this a special rendez-vous between two European Capitals of Culture. Wednesday 29 April, the E75 Art Bus arrives second time to pop-up at the SULUV Gallery in Novi Sad, Serbia, on its journey across Europe, connecting artists and communities along the 11,000 km E75 route from the Arctic to the Mediterranean and back.

The afternoon at SULUV Galerija and the nearby Dunavski Park is organized in collaboration with the Union of Associations of Fine Artists of Vojvodina.

Eeva-Liisa invites you to make the smell of your town together via steam distillation, and talk about smells, sense of smell, smell memories and experiences.

18:00–19:00 Tianjun Li (Timjune). A performance exploring images, sounds, and voice in a reimagination of human conditions, ecology, and common language.

15:00-17:00 Polena Kolia Petersen’s COMMON(ing) DANCES, a participatory social choreography. Partly performance partly workshop the choreography is scaffolded around 4 parts, each of it comprised of a set of scores - i.e. a kind of map that guides you through instructions inviting you to take part. Every participant is a leader and a follower. COMMON(ing) DANCES aims for bodies to meet. It is a rite of passage that choreographs our attention towards a we. Can we reach each other? What emerges when we step together in space and time?

17:15 If the winds in Novi Sad are favorable, we can enjoy Jenni-Juulia Wallinheimo-Heimonene’s kite performance – her handmade textile kites fly in public spaces as symbols of mobility and freedom. When wind is absent, the kites transform into wearable structures, turning the work into a moving, performative intervention in urban space.
