We were honoured to invite the European Commission’s Director-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Charlina Vitcheva together with Minna-Mari Kaila Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and their teams, for a testdrive in one of our boats.

The topic was commercial fishing in Finland and how solar electric boats could improve this industry.

What better way of showing the potential of our boats, than taking a trip out to a herring trap and back, in true Finnish fishing conditions: cloudy, windy and cold.

Thank you for this opportunity and trust in us!

We can’t affect the weather, short term, only adapt to it.

Hopefully this is proof enough that solar electric boats should have a place in the EU fishing fleet.

Spring is finally arriving in Finland, but we started this in-water season almost 2 months ago, when we launched our latest version of AMY down in Nice, at the Nice boating tomorrow show.

AMY powered by GmbH definitely gained some attention, being the fastest solar boat around. She is the ultimate proof that sustainable boating don't have to be limiting or boring, it's the exact opposite, giving you the possibility to go anywhere, at anytime without the limitations of traditional infrastructure and energy sources.

Building world-leading solar electric boats requires more than just adding solar panels and an electric motor to existing boats. It comes down to a long list of design features, that need to be optimized for this specific use. These details are usually not visible in a complete boat, but they are all there for one reason; energy efficiency.

By building some of the most energy efficient boats on the market, we are able to do what others can't, which is to provide high performance, zero emission boats, that are off-grid capable.
