Sharing experience, learning from science, and moving forward together. 🌊

As part of an environmental transition training program for the Occitanie and Catalonia Chambers of Commerce, Windelo was invited to share its experience as a company already taking concrete steps toward more sustainable practices.

The day began at our shipyard, where participants discovered some of the choices behind our catamarans—from basalt fiber and recycled PET foam to electric propulsion and onboard renewable energy production. A Windelo 54 alone uses recycled PET foam equivalent to around 25,000 plastic bottles.

For the Windelo team, the day was also an opportunity to learn at sea with local laboratory Plastic At Sea, exploring plastic pollution, microplastics, and their impact on marine ecosystems through an onboard sampling session, followed by a visit to their laboratory.

It was a valuable experience for the participating Chambers of Commerce—and for our own teams too. Because environmental transition is not only about sharing what we already do, but also about continuing to learn, question our practices, and improve alongside local experts.

Because protecting the ocean we sail on is a shared responsibility. And progress starts when knowledge, experience, and action come together.
