[PRESS RELEASE]
France-based CALT distribution has secured a raft of international sales for Egypt From Above, the latest high-end doc produced by HOPE PRODUCTION's Yann Arthus-Bertrand, along with previous docs in the same vein.
Released in December 2019 in prime time on France 2, the 90min doc (also available as 2x45min) is the first film to be shot exclusively from the sky in 4K format showing the marvels of this fascinating country. It follows the path opened by previous releases such as Algeria From Above and Morocco From Above from the same French photographer, director and environmentalist Yann Arthus-Bertrand.
This ‘From Above’ collection have been picked up by RTL’s GEO Television for Germany, Canal Odisea for Spain and Portugal, Planet Plus for Poland, Česká televize for Czech Republic, HRT - HR 1 for Croatia, Viewcom for Flemish-Belgium, and Al-Asharq for the Middle East. Asia is covered by local distributor BomanBridge that has been a key partner in placing those docs all across the Asia-Pacific region, including deals with SBS Australia, CCTV9 for China, TVB Hong Kong, PTS in Taïwan, KBS Korea, TPBS Thailand, VTV in Vietnam, amongst others.
“We pride ourselves on finding new territories for such blue-chip titles that please audiences everywhere” said Dimitri Gelineau, sales manager at CALT Distribution, which holds the distribution rights for Yann Arthus-Bertrand’s main catalogue, which also includes Terra, an ode to the beauty of life on Earth and the relationship between mankind and other species.
Yann Arthus-Bertrand’s upcoming documentary, Legacy, will go back on the global efforts made regarding climate change, more than 10 years after the release of Home, a landmark environmental doc that has been watched by 600 million viewers. CALT Distribution will handle international sales.
