Among the better-known bastides of the Dordogne Valley, Bretenoux is perhaps a little more discreet. But it has plenty of charm of its own 💛

At the heart of the town, a beautiful paved square is framed by arcaded buildings, while the Dordogne River flows nearby, adding to its relaxed riverside setting 😎

And if you want to see Bretenoux at its liveliest, come on market day. Every Tuesday and Saturday, all year round, the square fills with stalls, local produce and the familiar buzz of a French market 🥐🍓🧀

It's an easy one to miss if you follow the usual tourist trail but a charming discovery to be combined with a visit of Saint-Céré and the castle of Castelnau-Bretenoux, just a few km away 🏰

C'est parti pour le mois d'octobre avec la mise en perce d'une nouvelle bière éphémère, un concert Jazz Manouche avec Swing Forty Six et une soirée cumbia musette avec Accordémon . Et pour la régalade on vous fait une petite choucroute maison et les amis de Co'Brèze et Dionna Pizza viendront nous rassasier comme il se doit.

Dating back to 1820, this lovingly restored cottage is nestled at the bottom of the peaceful hamlet of Fleuret. With its rich history and characterful features, this traditional two bedroom stone cottage offers a truly unique holiday experience, with the additional comfort of air conidtioning in the bedrooms.

The ground floor offers a large open plan living/dining room with comfy sofas, farmhouse table seating up to 6, wood burning stove, TV and DVD. The fully fitted kitchen is situated in the traditional bread oven, and leads directly out onto the covered terrace for outdoor dining.

The cottage offers a private garden and parking, as well as full use of the rest of Fleuret grounds and of course the large 14 x 7 metre swimming pool and adjoining games room.
