🚚Good practice in loading and unloading food products❄🍴

✅ Transport units must be inspected by the producer or transporter before loading, ensuring that they are free from contamination. It is important that transporters of bulk and semi-packaged products keep records of the cleanliness of transport units and previous loads;
✅ Apply appropriate cleaning and disinfecting procedures;
✅ Ensure that the different foods being transported are properly separated;
✅ Ensure that the transport units are at the right temperature at the time of loading and unloading;
✅ The recipient of the products must ensure that, on receipt, the food has been kept at the appropriate temperature during transport;
✅ Reception and handling must be controlled, ensuring that temperature variations and contamination of the food have not occurred and avoiding contamination during unloading and storage;
✅ Food requiring refrigeration must be immediately stored in accordance with the respective storage conditions once all inspections have been completed.

⚠️🚢New ferry service for unaccompanied trailers🚛

🗣Dear Haulier,
As your valued partner for the ferry service, we offer a new service between Tilbury and Calais dedicated to unaccompanied trailers.

This service allows trailers to be dropped off in Calais in the evening (departure at 9.30pm) and continue their route the following day from Tilbury (expected arrival at 6am). This new service has a daily crossing in each direction six days a week.

Situated less than 50 kilometres from London and with direct access to the north of the UK, Tilbury allows you to avoid the always congested M25.

This port has been specialising in shipping unaccompanied trailers, with a focus on connections from Belgium and the Netherlands.

With us, your trucks are always on the move!

🚛 HGV levy details - non-UK HGVs ⚠️

➡️ You need to pay the HGV levy to drive an HGV over 12,000kg on a motorway or ‘A’ road in the UK🛣

This fee was suspended in 2020 due to the pandemic and to support the haulage sector, however a new reformed Levy will come into effect from August 2023.

➡️The amount you need to pay depends on the:

✔Weight of the vehicle, including the weight of your trailer if you have a rigid vehicle that pulls a trailer;
✔Vehicle’s Euro emission class;
✔Amount of time spent in the UK;

⚠️You must pay the levy before you drive in the UK

You can pay a daily, weekly, monthly or yearly rate depending on how long the journey will last
