I know it’s tempting to open the Amex app, head to the Fine Hotels + Resorts section, and book a luxury hotel in the middle of the night.

You think, it’s just easier if I do it. I don’t want to bother my favorite travel advisor 😉 with something so simple. But the truth of the matter is that if you’ve only been booking your five star stays through your credit card’s travel site, you’ve never truly had a luxury hotel experience.

Here’s why:

1. VIPing- For a true luxury hotel experience, there’s a step beyond clicking book now. There’s a key period between when you book your stay and when you actually check in that’s crucial to ensuring the hotel has details about anything you may be celebrating, your flight arrival and departure, bedding preferences, food allergies, and the list goes on. has a 10 point list of client details that we share with our hotel partners. We make sure they know everything you love and maybe more importantly, what you don’t!

2. Proactive beats reactive every time - You don’t have to call an 800 number and explain to each new person that you talk to what your needs are. When books your five star hotel, we proactively reach out to you to get those important details, then we proactively share them with the hotel, and finally we keep them on file so that the next time you book (and there will be a next time!), you’re not sharing the same information over and over again.

3. Follow up makes the next stay better- If your stay is awesome, we want to know about it. Room for improvement, we still want to know about it. Everything you share with us post stay helps us strengthen our matchmaking skills and provides our hotel partners with the honest feedback they want. 3 THINGS THIS LUXURY TRAVEL ADVISOR DOESN’T DO (that may surprise you)

I talk a lot about what I do as the founder of , but there are a few things that I don’t do and I want to share why.

1. I don’t base your trip on where I’ve been.
🗺️ I’ve traveled all of the world, so I have a lot of firsthand knowledge to share, but that’s not how I recommend destinations to clients. I listen as you share your “why” and then dig into your goals, priorities, and preferences for each trip. Once we have those details I’m able to match you to your perfect destination, and I have the partners on the ground who are going to ensure a seamless experience, no visit from me required!

2. I don’t make dining recommendations or reservations.
🍽️ As someone who is an extremely particular eater, I understand how personal dining choices are. The place that I love may not suit you and that’s okay, because instead of taking my word for the best pasta in Rome, we engage your hotels’ concierge who lives and breathes the city to share their personal favorites and snag the reservations that are showing as unavailable online.

3. I don’t judge you for using AI when it comes to travel game planning.
💻 Now please don’t take this as an endorsement for using AI to plan your trip, but I’m perfectly fine if you use it to refine your ideas. AI can help you do preliminary research to narrow down where you want to go, or where you want to stay. But there is nothing that compares to the personal relationships I’ve built over the last 7 years, and the fact that if something goes wrong you can actually pick up a phone and call me.

Save this for your next journey ✈️
1. Anticipate security, don’t let it give you anxiety
If you’re traveling even a few times a year, I strongly recommend enrolling in TSA PreCheck, Global Entry, or Clear. It’s the simplest way to turn a typically stressful step into a seamless pass-through, and it ensures you arrive at your lounge relaxed, not rushed. And if you travel frequently and don’t already have this trio of services reach out to to learn how to enroll.

2. Pack your carry-on with intention
I always advise clients to think of their carry-on as a curated kit, not a catch-all. Keep liquids compliant, and place your essentials (passport, devices, valuables) exactly where you can reach them without hesitation. Designate a phone pocket or a passport pouch and put the same item in the same place every time. This alone can save you several minutes, and preserve your sanity. No more frantically searching for that one thing you just had, but now you can’t find.

3. Travel with foresight, not guesswork
Before you leave for the airport, take a moment to check current security wait times and anticipate peak periods. A small adjustment in timing can completely change your experience. Your airport’s website or social media accounts are great places to start, and I never leave home without checking the app which can tell you when to leave, how long security will take, and live flight status.

The goal is simple: every step of your journey should feel considered, calm, and entirely in your control.
