Mission accomplished. 🛰
On August 27, Ariane 6 lifted off from Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana and 36 minutes later, MTG-I2 separated cleanly into geostationary transfer orbit at 2,778 km above the Equator.
From there, the satellite continues its journey to its final home: geostationary orbit at 36,000 km above Earth, where it will scan Europe and Northern Africa every 2.5 minutes for years to come.
VA270. Ariane 6’s first-ever GTO mission. A new chapter for European space and for European weather forecasting.
