🚖💛 Yesterday reminded us exactly why being one big Alpha family matters. 💛🚖
As many of you will already know, unfortunately a tree fell across the train tracks, causing major disruption and huge delays along the London–Salisbury route 🚆🌳
While the worst of the chaos hit our Basingstoke office, the knock-on effect spread far and wide — and yesterday really showed what teamwork looks like across Alpha Cars.
From around 3PM–7PM, our Basingstoke team faced hours of non-stop bookings, walk-ins and phone calls, helping get stranded passengers safely where they needed to be.
And here in Andover, we supported wherever we could too 💛🚖
Whether it was helping with extra bookings, supporting customers, getting drivers where they were needed or helping ease the pressure — everyone pulled together to make sure as many people as possible got where they needed to be safely.
And what a mix of journeys it was… ✈️🚖
People trying to catch flights.
Families desperate to get home.
Loved ones trying to reunite.
Customers travelling across the country.
People from all walks of life, all ages, cultures and languages — all suddenly needing help at once.
But something incredible happened…
Instead of frustration, there was kindness 💛
Passengers helping passengers.
People offering to share journeys and split costs to help others get home.
Customers being patient, understanding and genuinely looking out for one another.
One moment that really stood out to us was a lovely Zimbabwean family, who had only recently moved to the area and had absolutely no idea what chaos was unfolding around them. They simply needed a local journey and suddenly found themselves caught up in complete disruption.
One of our management team members in Basingstoke even stepped away from office duties out of hours to personally help get them home safely 🚖💛
They were incredibly grateful, relieved and happy — and moments like that are exactly why we do what we do.
A huge shoutout has to go to our incredible **Basingstoke team in office **, who absolutely smashed it under pressure 👏
One of their newest team members completely BOSSED the walk-ins with professionalism, efficiency and calmness — honestly, you’d think they’d been there for years 👏💛
And to the Basingstoke dispatcher who somehow organised every single job, kept everything running smoothly and got customers moving quickly and safely, even with drivers travelling miles out of town… what a job 👏🚖
And something we’re especially proud of…
In moments like this, when transport suddenly becomes essential, we believe people shouldn’t be penalised for simply trying to get home safely.
So while demand was incredibly high, our focus stayed exactly the same — fair, reliable transport and helping people get where they needed to be safely. Because doing right by customers will always matter more to us than taking advantage of difficult situations 💛
So from all of us at Alpha Cars Andover…
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who trusted Alpha yesterday, showed patience, kindness and worked together to help one another get home safely.
Because whether it’s Andover, Basingstoke, Newbury or Salisbury…
🚖 One team. One family. One priority — you. 💛
Your ride, our priority. Always.
