🌊🍹 WHY I’VE BOOKED THE DRINKS PACKAGES FOR OUR NEXT CRUISE… 🍹🌊
So… Icon of the Seas, here we come! 🛳️😍
I’ve booked our next family cruise with Royal Caribbean, and naturally, before I’ve even thought about what I’m packing, I’ve already been down the rabbit hole of DRINKS PACKAGES 😂
There’s five of us going — me, my partner and the children — so for me it wasn’t simply “Is the drinks package worth it?”
It was more…
“Will this make our holiday easier?” 🤔
And honestly, that’s what swung it for me.

I’ve gone for the Deluxe Beverage Package.
I know when you first see the price, you think 😳💸 but when I actually think about how we holiday, it makes sense for us.
Morning coffee ☕
Water throughout the day 💧
A cocktail by the pool 🍹
W**e with dinner 🍷
Maybe a drink in the evening 🍸
It’s not about trying to drink our body weight in cocktails 😂 — it’s about not thinking about every single drink we order.
We’re on holiday. I want to order a coffee, grab a drink by the pool or have a glass of w**e with dinner without constantly getting my phone out thinking “how much have we spent now?” 😂
🥤 For the boys
I’ve gone for the Soda Package.
And honestly… this one is probably less about saving money and more about saving my sanity 😂
Because teenagers + a cruise ship =
“I’m thirsty.”
“Can I get a drink?”
“Can I have another one?”
“Can I get one before we go?” 🤣
I’d much rather know it’s covered and let them grab a drink whenever they want.
👧 And for my daughter
I’m not getting her a package because there are already plenty of complimentary drinks available onboard, including water, tea, coffee and selected drinks with meals.
So there’s really no need to buy something just for the sake of it.
🌴 And I’ve thought about port days too…
Of course, there will be days when we’re off exploring and barely onboard.
But then there will be those glorious sea days where we’re by the pool, wandering around the ship, having lunch, watching the kids and generally being in full holiday mode.
For us, I know we’ll use it.
And that’s really my rule when it comes to drinks packages…
👉 If you’re only having one or two drinks a day, it probably isn't going to make sense.
👉 If your holiday involves coffee + cocktails + w**e + drinks throughout the day, it can start to make much more sense.
For me, it’s not about trying to get every penny of “value” out of the package.
It’s about convenience, less faffing and feeling like we’re properly on holiday. 🥰
And with five of us, if I can remove a few little decisions and just say “Yep, grab one!”…
I’m calling that a win. 😂🍹
Now I just need to wait for the actual holiday… which is definitely the hardest part! 😭🛳️🌊
