I went to the Great Yorkshire Show for the first time last week. Sheepdog trials, championship cattle, hound shows, and a genuine sense that farming still comes first, not fireworks and fudge stalls. Read why this might be the last true county show left in Britain: https://travelwithspirit.media/the-last-great-show/

The drums call, and once you hear them, you don't forget them.

In our latest feature, Teresa Otto takes us to Crow Fair in Montana, one of the largest and longest-running Native American gatherings in the country. She tells the story of how her mother's decades-long love of powwows became her own.

2026 also marks the 150th anniversary of the Battle of the Little Bighorn, fought just miles from where Crow Fair pitches its tipis each August, making this an especially meaningful year to visit.

Six friends. One shared obsession. A weekend under canvas in one of France's most beautiful cities.
When the unofficial Calvados Club packed their tents and pointed the car toward Normandy, they weren't just chasing a spirit. They were chasing an experience. Cobbled streets, a harbour that looks like an Impressionist painting, jazz drifting across the waterfront, and enough of Normandy's finest apple brandy to keep everyone in very good spirits indeed.
Nick Forman's wonderful feature is published today. It's a reminder that extraordinary travel doesn't always require a long-haul flight. Sometimes it's just four hours down the road.

Meet Lara Samme ✈️📝
Lara's love affair with storytelling started young, cutting her teeth as a sixth-form reporter for 'This Is Local London' before talking her way onto her university newspaper, where she rose from Lifestyle Associate Editor to Travel Editor in the space of two years.
These days, her passion has packed its bags: Lara is happiest with a map in one hand and a notebook in the other, chasing new landscapes, new cultures, and the people who make a place feel like home, whether that's a local weekend away or somewhere the other side of the world.
Lara recently filed her first feature for Travel with Spirit ; Amsterdam - City of Light and Water (https://travelwithspirit.media/amsterdam-city-of-light-and-water/).
Her journey with us is just beginning; why not follow along! 🌍

There's a town at the mouth of the Bay of Kotor that doesn't try very hard to impress you — and that's exactly why it does.
Writer Charlie Speed's latest feature takes you to Herceg Novi, Montenegro; secret coves, a 17th-century clocktower, and a boat trip through the bay that our writer still hasn't stopped thinking about.
Plus, everything you need to plan your own trip — where to eat, where to stay, and the boat tour worth every euro.

There's nowhere quite like Paris in spring for a milestone birthday. 🌸 Lara Samme celebrated her 21st among friends; from the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles to hidden speakeasies, rooftop bars with Eiffel Tower views, and the most perfect pistachio soufflé. As Lara discovered, Paris isn't just the City of Love. It's the city for every kind of celebration.

There's a moment, deep inside a Louisiana cypress swamp, when the boat engine drops to a murmur, the trees close in overhead, and the world simply stops.
No traffic. No phone signal. No urgency. Just water, ancient trees draped in Spanish moss, and the occasional alligator sliding silently past the hull.
Join Teresa Otto as she takes you into the cypress-tupelo swamps of Louisiana and Texas — from the legendary rookery at Lake Martin to the haunting autumn forests of Caddo Lake. Two of America's most extraordinary wild places, and almost nobody talks about them.

There is a moment in Porto, somewhere between the cobblestones of Ribeira and a cold drink on a sun-warmed hilltop, when the city stops feeling like somewhere you are visiting and starts feeling like somewhere you have always known.

In our latest feature, writer Charlie Speed explores Portugal's most soulful city entirely on foot: from the iconic Dom Luís I Bridge and the 20,000 hand-painted tiles of São Bento Station to a Douro River boat tour and the nightly sunset ritual at Jardim do Morro, which she could not stay away from.

This is not a city to be ticked off a list. It is a city to be felt. Read the full feature here:
