From Vascular Research to Application—Meet Us at APS 2026!
Moor Instruments Inc will be heading to Minneapolis soon for the American Physiological Society summit and are looking forward to being part of the conversations happening there. In its fourth year in this summit format, this event has quickly established itself as a Must Do for us. It’s proven to be a great way to see the breadth of work across physiological research within America and beyond its borders, from fundamental vascular research through to applied studies—and we’re keen to catch up with both familiar faces and new groups.
We’ll be at booth 1014, where we’ll have our monitoring and imaging systems available to explore. If you’re working on microvascular function or tissue perfusion, it would be great to compare notes and share how these approaches can potentially be used as part of your work.
While in Minneapolis you can’t miss the iconic Stone Arch Bridge for skyline views and of course it’s well worth taking the short trip to the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden to see Spoonbridge and Cherry. For the soccer fans, LAFC are in town on Saturday to take on the Minnesota United FC at Allianz Field.
If you’re attending APS and would like to connect while you’re there, feel free to get in touch! Hope to see you there!

Explore new approaches in microvascular research at BMVBS!

As long-term supporters, Moor Instruments are looking forward to exhibiting at this year’s British Microcirculation & Vascular Biology Society (BMVBS) meeting at the University of Birmingham from 22-23 April..
It’s always a valuable and interesting event, bringing together researchers focused on microvascular function and vascular biology and we’re happy to be part of it again. These meetings are a great chance to step back from day-to-day work and have proper conversations about methods, challenges, and where the field is heading with existing and potential customers.
If you’re going to BMVBS, it would be great to catch up—whether that’s to talk through your current work or just reconnect in person!
As always, we’re proud to sponsor a formal prize - the "Moor Instruments Best Technological Innovation in the Field". It's always rewarding to award the prize and also track the careers of those who benefitted from this travel grant.
Let us know if you’ll be attending and would like to arrange a time to meet, we’d be delighted to discuss your work and how we can support it.

We’re excited to share that Moor Instruments will be attending a series of leading scientific and clinical meetings across the UK and US over the coming weeks.
As part of our spring conference programme, our team will be connecting with researchers and clinicians at key events focused on physiology, microvascular function, and burn care. These meetings provide a valuable opportunity to showcase our latest technologies, discuss emerging applications, and collaborate with experts working at the forefront of their fields.
Whether your focus is fundamental research or clinical practice, we look forward to exploring how our solutions can support your work.
If you’re attending any of these meetings, we’d love to connect—stay tuned for more details on where to find us, what we’ll be demonstrating, and how to book time with our team.

Wishing all our colleagues and customers a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy 2026.

As we come to the close of 2025, we would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers, distributors, colleagues, and suppliers for your continued support and to wish you all a very happy festive season and every success for the year ahead.

We hope you’re able to enjoy a well-earned break and spend some quality time with those who matter most to you.

Moor Instruments will be taking a short break over the Christmas and New Year period, with most of the team finishing just before Christmas and returning in early January. During this time, we will continue to have staff available to support any essential servicing needs.

Looking ahead to 2026, we are excited to begin a new chapter for Moor Instruments as an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT). Everyone you deal with at Moor Instruments is now a part-owner of the business, strengthening our ability to secure positive long-term outcomes while preserving the culture, values, and ethics that define us.

As has become our tradition, instead of sending physical Christmas cards, we will be making two charitable donations on your behalf. We are proud to continue supporting Dan’s Fund for Burns, whose incredible work provides vital support to the burns community. We are also pleased to donate to the Dementia Research Institute, whose pioneering research is making a significant impact in this important field.

Wishing you all the very best of the season.

With warmest regards,
The Team at Moor Instruments

P.S. The attached photo is courtesy of Sam Moles—an inspirational figure in the EOT world—who kindly visited Moor Instruments to share his insights into the many benefits of the employee-owned model. And to take a picture of us fundraising for "Save the Children" with a Christmas Jumper day.

New Chapter opens for Moor Instruments Ltd!

We’re proud to share an important milestone in our journey: Moor Instruments has transitioned from the private ownership of our founder, Dr David Boggett, to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT).

Founded in 1987 and with our roots in laser Doppler technology going back to the late 1970s, Moor Instruments has always been built on precision, innovation and trust. Moving to employee ownership reflects what we’ve long believed — that our customers and our team are at the heart of our success.

This change helps protect the independence of the business, preserves our culture, and ensures the future of Moor Instruments is shaped by those who know it best.

Employee ownership allows us to think long term, continue investing in innovation and remain focused on delivering the best possible outcomes for our customers.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way, and especially to our customers and colleagues whose dedication and long service has made this possible.

We’re excited about what lies ahead and look forward to building the future together!

Moor Support for TRFC U16 Rowcroft Hospice Walk!
Moor Instruments were delighted to sponsor a “Teignmouth Rugby Club U16 player and parents” team to help raise funds for the Rowcroft Hospice “End of Life Care program” recently. The walk was organised as part of the “Big Tackle” challenge and followed a scenic route around Torquay with a few nasty hills and some windswept coastal paths.

We’re pleased to report that the team of 18 (captained by our Sales and Marketing Manager, Pete Jady) completed the walk, albeit in less-than-ideal conditions due to the rain but all in good spirits. With the team fund raising target set at £2000, we’re pleased to report that was smashed – with the team raising £3250 for the charity and also making the TRFC team the overall number one fund raising team for 2024. A great achievement – Well Done!

Hind Limb Ischemia Assessment Techniques: What is the Gold Standard?
Leading up to the World Congress of Microcirculation in Beijing later this year (Sept 20-24, 2023), we will be exploring one of our most common applications in its various perspectives: The pre-clinical use of the hind limb ischemia assessment techniques to develop novel therapies for peripheral arterial diseases etc.

In the run up to the congress we will be releasing a series of articles looking at various aspects of this application, to provide useful background information on current uses of the measurement, practicalities and ultimately to help you make a well-informed choice on the equipment options available to you.

The series includes Hind Limb Ischemia Techniques, Cell Treatments, Treatment Devices, Drug Therapies and Physiological studies.

Here we briefly consider Hind Limb Ischemia techniques and whether laser Doppler Imaging (LDI) can be considered the Gold Standard for Hind Limb Ischemia studies on vascularisation following femoral artery occlusion.

As always, we invite your questions and feedback. Enjoy the read by following the link below!

SfN 2022 San Diego is done and the dusted. Great to be at this show in person after three long years and to remember that "Neuroscience" isn't just about, well, Neuroscience. Add in Fun, Friends, Football, Colleagues, Conversation and an early morning sunrise at 36,000ft and it's easy to see why its great to be back! A particular pleasure, as always to spend quality F2F time with colleagues from across the globe (including Simon Rushworth, Gautam Rajan and Tim Brown). Roll on SfN2023!

We're super proud of our Sales Administrator, Madi Breach, for undertaking the Cancer Research Skipping Challenge. Madi's completing 100 skips per day throughout October and going strong so far.
She says "It’s decades since I’ve skipped and I haven’t been fit since I had Covid in January 2021. I will be doing some of the skipping at work (outside!!) so there will be some entertainment too.".

She's not wrong!

If you’d like to sponsor her and help raise money for a great cause, you can do so by donating to Cancer Research UK on the page https://fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/page/madis-skipping-challenge-giving-page
