Autumn is Coming: Next Stop, Winter Cruising! 🍂🚤
Years ago, I lived in a country where the seasonal changes weren't nearly as obvious. To be honest, it felt like there were only two seasons: one very hot, and one warm with a few chilly days chucked in! You could confidently book outdoor plans weeks in advance, knowing it would be sunny. ☀️
It was lovely, but it made me realize how fortunate we are with our changing seasons here—sometimes even hourly changes! 🤣
🌿 Spring: Fresh growth and birds nesting
☀️ Summer: Long, warm country walks and light evenings outdoors
🍂 Autumn: Rich colors and cozy woolly jumpers
❄️ Winter: Toasty evenings tucked up indoors, visits to pubs with roaring fires and evenings playing board games -we do love board games!
A 5 hour”Risk” game with friends last night fuelled by wine and pizza !
This long, hot summer really got me thinking... after growing up hearing endless complaints about rainy British summers, here we were, hoping for rain! 🌧️
Despite the dry spells, we’ve been very fortunate on the canals. We’ve stayed in areas with enough water to keep cruising, only having to pause twice for a day or two along the way. 🚤
Now that summer is winding down, we’re ready to welcome Autumn! Will we be facing a wet winter ahead? Who knows—whatever happens, we’ll make it work.
We’re currently planning our winter cruising route, and we'll be sharing details soon so you know where you’ll be traveling alongside us! You get all the magic of exploring new places with us—without the muddy towpaths or the smell of a damp soggy doggy Spaniel in a confined space! 🐾🤣
Do you have any fun plans lined up for the new season? 🍂 (And please, no mentioning Christmas plans just yet—we are definitely not ready for Christmas planning! 🙈😂)
We’re so excited to have you along for the journey!
