🚖💛 Yesterday reminded us exactly why we do what we do. 💛🚖

As many of you will already know, unfortunately a tree fell across the train tracks, causing major disruption and huge delays along the London–Salisbury route 🚆🌳

When the chaos hit yesterday afternoon… honestly, we didn’t quite know what to expect.

What followed was hours of non-stop bookings, walk-ins and phone calls from every direction imaginable.

From around 3PM–7PM, our team worked back-to-back without stopping, helping get people safely where they needed to be.

And what a mix of journeys it was… ✈️🚖

People trying to catch flights.
Families desperate to get home.
Loved ones trying to reunite.
Customers travelling across the country.
People from all walks of life, all ages, cultures and languages — all suddenly needing help at once.

But something incredible happened…

Instead of frustration, there was kindness 💛

Passengers helping passengers.
People offering to share journeys and split costs to help others get home.
Customers being patient, understanding and genuinely looking out for one another.

Honestly, to everyone affected by the train delays yesterday… you restored our faith in people.

A special shoutout too to our incredible team 👏

Not one customer was forgotten. Not one person was left behind.

And something we’re particularly proud of…

In moments like this, when demand suddenly surges and transport becomes essential, we believe people shouldn’t be penalised for simply trying to get home safely.

So while the demand was incredibly high, our focus stayed exactly the same — fair, reliable transport and helping as many people as possible get where they needed to be safely. Because doing the right thing for customers will always matter more to us than taking advantage of difficult situations 💛

🟡 STAR WARS ICONS TOUCH DOWN IN SALISBURY AS ALPHA CARS LAUNCHES NEW LOCAL HUB

The streets of Salisbury took on a galactic glow recently as legendary figures from a galaxy far, far away arrived to celebrate the expansion of Alpha Cars.

To mark its official launch in the city, the taxi firm enlisted the help of Darth Vader, a squad of Stormtroopers, and the Mandalorian to greet the public.

The iconic characters spent the day handing out sweets and merchandise throughout the town centre, drawing large crowds of curious onlookers and sci-fi fans alike.

The timing of the launch was no coincidence, as the team hit the pavement on May 4. Better known to fans as "Star Wars Day," the date is an annual celebration inspired by the pun on the franchise’s famous catchphrase, "May the Force be with you."

The intergalactic visitors were a massive hit with locals, many of whom paused their shopping trips to snap selfies with the Sith Lord and his companions.

Reflecting on the successful rollout, a spokesperson for Alpha Cars noted that the community’s energy was "incredible," adding that "hundreds of flyers and giveaways were handed out during the event," alongside "lots of positive feedback from local residents and visitors."

While the firm is a new face in Salisbury, it already maintains a significant presence in nearby Andover and Basingstoke.
