Absolutely fed up with losing my weekends to work, I decided to take Saturday and Sunday afternoon off last weekend to catch some games. First, I head to Deramore Park on Saturday afternoon to watch the Belfast Trojans annihilate UCD, 44-8. On Sunday afternoon, I wandered up to Hydebank Playing Fields and caught an hour of baseball before heading home to soak up more of the gorgeous weather on the back porch with a book.

With the incredible weather still going on Monday, I wandered down to Ormeau Park with a picnic blanket and a book to lie out in the sun, listen to the birds, and the happy summer people. Of course, the temperature called for a quick ice cream on my way back home.

Stay tuned, there's always more!

After a lovely lunch with a friend at Granny Annie’s, I finally made my way down to the Titanic Quarter to check it out. We wandered back through the city, finding a few gems on the way before ending the day the Irish way… in a pub.
Stay tuned, there will be more.

Dandelions, both in bloom and ready to germinate, hidden flowers, amazing colour contrasts, Mallard ducks in the River Lagan, river reflections, inner city forests, white blooms, and a Beltane fire. It’s all been exquisite over the last week. Bring on summer!

As we slowly meander further into the spring here in the Emerald Isle, the trees are beginning to reveal their magnificence. I continue to find lovely little surprises each time I venture into the city, and of course, my occasional visitor, Freya the cat, comes to give me some love when it is needed most. Oh, and yes, I got a deal for a £1 coffee, which made me very happy.

Stay tuned, there will be more.

My friend Violet invited me out to visit her in the country and I grabbed the opportunity with both hands. Getting back onto a train was great as I love to travel by rail, so I headed off to Portadown in County Armagh, where Violet picked me up. She drove me to Dante’s Deli, nestled in Armagh’s historic Palace Stables, where she treated me to a delicious lunch, followed by a glorious walk through the city. I couldn’t stop gawking at the gorgeous, quaint buildings and definitely gave off tourist vibes as I pointed my camera at everything!

Afterwards, we drove out to her place in the countryside, where I marvelled at the green that surrounds everything here in Ireland. We stopped in the small village of Caledon in County Tyrone before heading back to Portadown for my train home. I couldn't stop smiling all the way back to Belfast. This truly is a beautiful country and I am very lucky to call it home.

Thank you Violet for an incredible and much-needed day out.

Stay tuned, there will be more.

Cherryvale Playing Fields is quickly becoming my favourite place to walk, especially in the early morning. The sunrise creates beautiful and magical effects over the trees and fields, and spring is bursting out in every shade and colour around the park.

This week I also tried Irish set dancing for the first time. It was a beautiful disaster as I attempted to keep up with the steps and tempo… thankfully, I wasn’t the only one losing my way! My legs were very grateful to sink into the top deck of the local bus taking me home on a rainy night. Oh, and I climbed out of the bathroom window and onto the roof to sweep it and clean the skylight. I will climb onto just about anything!

Stay tuned, there will be more.
