Another incredible day in Greenland! 🇬🇱

Our morning started in another stunning fjord, Prins Christiansund, where we headed out on the Zodiacs to get a closer look at the landscape. Along the way, we came across a single sandpiper taking a well-deserved rest on a giant slab of rock. Quite a few sandpipers stop here to breed & nest which I hadn’t realized before now.

One of the things I’m really appreciating about expedition cruising is how interactive the experience is. The expedition team are constantly watching, listening and spotting things we might otherwise miss. You just never know what you’re going to see! They’re also incredibly mindful about how we observe wildlife and nature. Everything is done with care and respect, making sure we can enjoy these encounters without disturbing what we’ve come to see.

After lunch, we headed to the tiny Greenlandic village of Aappilattoq, where we received such a warm welcome. A local resident shared what life is like in this small community, we visited the church and listened to a few songs, enjoyed a hearty and delicious seafood soup, and then watched a very competitive soccer match between people from our ship and the locals.

We were cheering for both sides, but unfortunately for our team, the locals kicked our butts 3–1! ⚽️😂

Another great day in Greenland. Every day seems to bring something completely different, and I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!

Some expedition days are simply unforgettable. Today was one of them!!

Our crew had cautioned us that seeing polar bears was unlikely, so we knew it would be a bonus if we were lucky enough to spot one.

Well… we got VERY lucky.

While exploring Lindenow Fjord, we spotted a mama polar bear with her cub. Watching them from a respectful distance in their natural environment was an incredible wildlife encounter and easily one of the highlights of this expedition.

Later, we headed out on the Zodiacs and spotted some seals and a pair of white-tailed eagles, all while surrounded by the dramatic glaciers and towering cliffs of Greenland’s fjords.

This is one of the things I’m loving about expedition travel. You can have a general plan, but nature gets to decide what actually happens. And sometimes, those unexpected moments become the ones you remember most.

Greenland has certainly been delivering so far!!

What a freaking amazing day!! 🦊❄️🚁

We woke up early as we entered Skjoldungen Fjord, surrounded by floating ice, icebergs and snow-capped mountains. It was absolutely spectacular.

After breakfast, we headed out for a little hike and came across the cutest young Arctic fox. He was so curious about us that we were able to watch him for about 20 minutes. 🦊

Then came the highlight of the afternoon: our helicopter tour over the glacier. Seeing Greenland’s landscape from above was unbelievable.

And because the weather was cooperating, we weren’t finished yet! We headed back out on the Zodiacs to explore some of the caves and get an incredible close-up view of the glacier.

This is exactly what makes expedition cruising so special. You never really know what the day will bring, and the itinerary can adapt to take advantage of the conditions and opportunities around you.

Some days I have a hard time believing I get to experience places like this. Feeling very grateful today… and already wondering how I’m going to top this one tomorrow!
