Lights, Camera, Action ... Film Location Revealed 🎥

We are very excited to finally share that Pentillie is one of the filming locations for BBC One's new Death in Paradise spin off, Beyond Paradise! The new series airs this Friday at 8pm, with so many local sites to spot on the big screen...

Most iconic, Visit Looe acts as 'Shipton Abbott' with other locations including Port Eliot House and Gardens, Calstock, Werrington Park and Weir Quay Boatyard.

For our Pentillie Castle and Estate fans, you will also spot our riverside quay, the Lime Avenue and some of our tenanted cottages. Keep your eyes peeled for some behind the scenes soon...

Competition time! ⛵️

Each year, Weir Quay Boatyard print out tide tables which go to all the local sailing clubs, various marine businesses and for sale in the Café and Post Office.

This year we would like someone to either take a photo or draw/paint something from The River or Boatyard for a chance to be on the front cover!

Please send any entries to [email protected]. The closing date is 1st November and the winner will get a £30 voucher from the café.

If you would like your business to be advertised in the tide tables, please also contact me for more information.

Thank you

Hello! We’re organising a charity swim at the boatyard this Sunday the 6th at 8.30am -9am (it’s early but the only time we can do it with the tides 🌊)

It will be in aid of Ukraine so all profits for the day of the baps/cakes/paninis/chips will go towards https://donate.redcross.org.uk/appeal/ukraine-crisis-appeal

We hope to see you there! 💛💙

Please note that that participation in the swim is on a voluntary basis so at your own risk.

***UPDATE***

Unfortunately, due to the weather it’s too much of a risk to have The Yard Café swim this year (there will be much more chances in the summer!).

The café is still open 10-4 and we’re offering a free glass of mulled wine to everyone! We look forward to seeing you.

————————————————————————

Come and join us for a Christmas dip in the River Tamar on the 28th December ❄️❄️ High tide is at 12pm so please be on time unless you’re planning on going to Plymouth. (There will be a safety boat out)
We’ll be serving pigs in blanket baps, hot chocolate and cakes for the swimmers and supporters 🍰 Showers are also available after.
The café will be open 10am-4pm for those who can’t make the swim 😊
