We are excited to announce that Drover Cycles now has an outpost in Talybont-on-Usk! With Keith having sadly relocated Bikes and Hikes and closed the shop due to personal reasons, we felt the village had lost a vital resource. We wish him and Arlene all the very best and appreciate all they have done to support local cyclists and promote Talybont as an MTB hub.
Please note that Keith will continue to offer repairs and servicing for his many loyal customers from his new (long-established) base in Llandew near Brecon. (You can reach him on 07909 968135 or by emailing [email protected])
The Drover Cycles shop will be offering bike hire, a range of bike essentials, maps and local route information. While it’s our aim to help anyone in need of an emergency mid-ride repair, we will not have a full workshop set-up at Talybont. Our main servicing hub remains at our Hay-on-Wye site. With Talybont Stores and the Canalside Cafe just next door and the Bike Hub at Henderson Hall, cyclists and mountain bikers are so well catered for.
For those who don’t know us, Drover Cycles is run by Anna and Luke. We’ve lived in Hay since 2006 and started the business in 2007, although Luke has a longer standing connection with the area having been born just along the canal in Pencelli and attended school in Brecon. Anna is a blow-in from Yorkshire. Alongside the Drover day-job she also spends time in the local primary schools as a cycling instructor for Powys County Council. Carys (5) and Tomos (2) complete our little family and we are all keen cyclists (or at least cycle passengers)! We are looking forward to getting to know the local community, so do please pop in and say hello.
