Another week on the Danube has come to an end with all of us taking away some wonderful memories. We managed to sail a lot more and much further downstream than we originally anticipated. This was great news for the guests and I can’t thank the crew of the Amadeus Cara enough for their commitment to deliver the best customer experience. The nautical team did a brilliant job of navigating the low waters and getting us to Hungary and back again.

We visit three capital cities on the Beautiful Blue Danube cruise. Having been to Vienna and Budapest it was time to see Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. We had a wonderful excursion to the iconic Bratislava Castle - a hilltop castle overlooking the Danube along with a guided walk around the city.

We visited another wonderful city on this cruise, Budapest. It was a great day out. I love the contrast between hilly old style Buda and the more cosmopolitan Pest. Everyone enjoyed the day.

I love to introduce my friends from Amadeus - this is Katarina our brilliant Massage Therapist and Receptionist. Katarina also runs the morning stretch session every day at 7am. I joined her and some of the guests today. She is a wonderful lady. 🤸

Great Rail Journeys USYesterday we sailed the picturesque Wachau Valley. This stretch of river is UNESCO World Heritage cultural landscape. I was able to spend some time on the sundeck with our guests taking in the views - pretty towns, vineyards and castles.

This morning my teammate Alex and I took 127 guests to Melk Abbey for a tour with our local guides. Founded in 1089, the abbey is one of Austria’s most famous monasteries. Today the abbey is still an active Benedictine monastery and home to a community of monks.
