👋🏼 Good morning! It's the turn of Catshill to have roadworks today!

🚦There will be multiway temporary traffic lights on Gibb Lane between the mini roundabout with Barley Mow Lane and the junction with Golden Cross Lane. This is to replace some sign posts and they'll only be in place for a few hours.

What a legend 👏🏼💙

LIFESAVER | A Bromsgrove police officer who helped resuscitate a man in cardiac arrest has this week been presented with a certificate to thank him for his lifesaving actions.

PC Sean Green of Bromsgrove Safer Neighbourhood Team was given a Royal Humane Society (RHS) award for his actions in July 2025 when he helped save a man during a concern for safety incident in the Clent Hills.

The man was found near a cliff edge, and PC Green was one of the first officers to respond to the emergency.

He used ladders to reach the man and was first to begin CPR before colleagues and a paramedic crew assisted.

The man went on to make a full recovery.

PC Green said: “It’s an honour to receive this award but it is just as rewarding to know that my actions and those of my colleagues helped to preserve a life.

“I am very extremely grateful for the assistance given by emergency services colleagues too at the time and for the training provided to us by the force which allowed us to quickly intervene and provide the best possible care in the situation.”

💦 It's pretty moist out there right now with a lot of surface water and spray on the roads.

Don't rely on automatic headlights as they often won't come on when it's raining during the day as the ambient light levels are too high.

Daytime running lights won't turn on at the back on some cars leaving you pretty much invisible to cars behind.

Remember the general rule of wipers on - lights on.

Don't forget that stopping distances will significantly increase on wet roads, so please make sure you drive to the conditions and keep plenty of distance from the car in front.

❌ M5 NORTH J5-J4A | STRANDED VEHICLE.

Lane one is closed on the M5 north due to a broken down van.

Traffic officers are in attendance and traffic is coping well on the approach.

Please take care if heading this way.

👋🏼 Good morning Bromsgrove, here's the roadworks information for today, Wednesday 10th June.

🚦One.network is still showing that temporary lights are expected to be in place for the next two days on Rock Hill, just up from Fox Lane whilst works are carried out by Cadent.

It was hoped that the works may have been planned before the temporary lights further up and would be postponed, but they're still showing up so it's likely they'll still go ahead.

🚦Please also keep in mind that there are works on the A38 in Wychbold for works by Severn Trent which are expected to be in place until tomorrow. These have been causing long delays on the approach, particularly during peak times so please allow extra time.

🚦ROCK HILL TEMPORARY LIGHTS | UPDATE.

Works are expected to start on Rock Hill tomorrow on the unstable embankment.

This hopefully brings light at the end of the tunnel, or perhaps light at the top of the hill.

Then again, it will hopefully mean no more lights at the top of the hill in the near future!

Temporary lights are frustrating, but safety must always be the number one priority and with the risk of falling masonry or a chance of the embankment collapsing, temporary lights are better than the worse case scenario.

🟠 UPDATE | All lanes have reopened and congestion is clearing.

The usual congestion remains further north approaching J4.

⚠️ M5 NORTH J5-J4A | CONGESTION.
____

Lane one is closed on the M5 north approaching J4A due to a stranded vehicle.

Congestion is currently back to J5 at this time.

Average speeds on the approach are currently 19mph.

Please also keep in mind that there are temporary traffic lights on the A38 between Chequers Lane and Church Lane for works by Severn Trent which is also causing delays in both directions on the approach.

🚦A38 WYCHBOLD | ROADWORKS | DELAYS REPORTED.

Temporary traffic lights are in place on the A38 in Wychbold between Church Lane and Chequers Lane whilst works are carried out by Severn Trent.

There are delays on the approach, particularly southbound heading towards the M5 and Droitwich with traffic queuing from the Webbs Roundabout.

The works are expected to be in place until the 11th June.

Please allow extra time or consider an alternative route.

🚦Temporary traffic lights will be in place on Church Road in Catshill at the junction of Chadcote Way whilst works are carried out by Severn Trent for today only...hopefully!

⛔️ Overnight road closures will be in place on the A38 between the Oakalls Roundabout and New Road traffic lights for the next two nights. This is to prepare for road layout changes for BREP and the closures will be in place between 8pm and 6am each night.
